Flicking between the golf and the football, both pretty grim viewing. McIlroy had a very tidy front 9 but he is in danger of it all unravelling on this back 9. Some horrible wedges and some desperate chips, he could have been -4 about an hour ago he is about to go +1

Worth noting Stuart Grehan fresh of a win at the East of Ireland won the Amateur Championship today at Hoylake. Guaranteed place at the Open, Masters and US Open. Pretty much assured himself of a Walker Cup place at Lahinch.

McIlroy had a strong front 9 here. Course playing much harder. Back in the mix up to T-3

At least it got interesting for a while. initially it looked like it woul be a procession for Clark. It was difficult to support anyone yesterday though. Either MAGA Burns or Smash up the locker room Clark, the rest were just too far back

Lowry fired his caddie and has returned back to Dermot Byrne who got a bit of a shaft being fired in 2018 during the open. Byrne on the bag this weekend but unsure if it's a long term deal.

Glimpses of brilliance as always from Lowry but he has had some exceptional final day let downs this season.
