Quote from: Brendan on June 19, 2026, 09:56:31 PMI see the Sinn Féin announcement of 3 candidates to run for Stormont in Newry + Armagh, 2 women and a man, as is the way with the party now the man is shunned and not a single picture of him in the announcement
Cathal Boylan not much to look at. He's also about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

So he's getting shafted to up the female quota? Not the first time the Shinners have played that trick

Is he not the man in that threesome. I think it's Liz Kimmins, Boylan and Aoife Finnegan

The way things are headed they'll hardly have the votes for 3 seats and he's already being sidelined so not a good start.

That's part of the problem MR2, no longer about whos the best candidate, its who ticks the right boxes

Everybody gearing up early for next May.

Be very little done at Stormont from now until then...as if there was much done previous to this I hear you say.

Battle lines drawn. There'll be a unionist pact I think.

Stormont up and running, Stormont down, Stormont in recess, Stormont sitting, Stormont in election mode.....it doesn't matter a damn, as they do f**k all, except for taking a £14,000 pay increase each, spending half a million on their canteen upgrade & charging up their EVs for free. A completely useless bunch of freeloaders and spivs.

The political bashing that goes on in the chambers and committee groups tells you all you need to know about politics in Stormont.

It's embarrassing watching grown ass adults take pot shots at each other and stick it up on social media for the likes!

In the mean time, real life goes on outside with nothing started, working on, or completed.

Get rid of the joint, I'm not seeing value for money

Its all for show, in the day to day away from the cameras they get on fine.

We dont need them. My hope with AI is the abolition of the political careerist class.

Milltown Row2

I'm glad they get on fine when there's no cameras. But that's not getting actual stuff done

Of course they all get on fine, off camera - green snouts, orange snouts, all dipped into the same big trough, with plenty enough to go around for everyone, including all the army of hangers on, including advisors, constituency office workers, "community" workers, councillors, appointees to the boards of public sector bodies. It's an entire self-perpetuating, lucrative industry, in itself. The major problem is that none of them have any real ability & if it wasn't for their unquestioning party political allegiances, they would be otherwise entirely unemployable & on the dole.

Pretty much the same down south.
They do seem to have closer ties to media in the 26 counties, perhaps as there is a clearer link between the political class the the funding.
