The victim is originally from Scotland who moved to Rathcoole and lived there for a number of years, he is well known in the area. He then moved to Kinnaird Close and has resided there for the past number of years. He is classed as an extremely vulnerable adult who is severely hard of hearing and would not have heard his attacker approaching him".

It was awful and rightly a pile of outrage but that was targeted at the bastard who did it.  I don't remember anyone trying to burn random white men out of their houses for the actions of one sc**bag.

Yeah,  while there was outrage there was not a pogrom of all gamers and the same with Katie Simpson,  there was no attack on the equine fraternity.  Situations like this are just perfect for people from a particular mindset,  and this is not a green and orange thing,  to release their inherent bigotry.  We have grown up in a country where violence against women is endemic and we still have the shadow of the the Troubles over us and violence and disorder is unfortunately seen as the answer to many people. Domestic violence is the hidden shame of our society and all leads back to a society driven by a male patriarchy who exercised 'control' by the boot and belt.  As a consequence this is seen as the acceptable way to react to issues and then this spills out to streets.

We have a very dangerous few years ahead of us and this type of reaction to anything that relates to violence that is not your average 'white man acceptable violence' will simply become more prominent.
