How are teams progressing on the injury front? Our club had a game Friday and Sunday - Lost 3 lads yesterday to hamstring injury's and our opposing team lost 2. Anyone who voted for two games to be played in 3 days given the speed the game has gone to don't understand the situations for club teams.

You see a lot of teams trying to move fixtures to Wednesdays, Thursdays, Mondays.  A Hamstring injury can be 6 - 8 weeks. So you miss the most of the league.

Quote from: Kick it in high on June 08, 2026, 08:52:31 AMWith games coming thick and fast momentum will be huge. In division two I think we could see teams that lost their first two games struggle. It can be tough to break the habit of losing. Some weekend for the teams getting two  wins and they could really push on. Who would have seen Drumquin Cookstown and Dregish lording it around the top of Division two? I think any of these teams can really push on

Naomh Eoghan wont win division 2 but its a good start for them they have a few very handy players but overall not the depth of panel to go and win it. Wouldnt surprise me to see them in a playoff to go up.

Drumquin with underage successes etc of recent years should be building but wouldnt read into it too much just yet. Aghyaran are looking like relegation contenders with a changing of guard also. As for kildress like most other years they are like a child with 1 stabiliser on the bike... ok when leaning to their right but if they lean left theyll fall flat on their face.

As for cookstown they are probably the most unknown in the division, I think experience is likely to let them down at some point but a team for the future at worst.

Watched Naomh Eoghan on friday night, i thought they could push on this year and looked strong. To defeat the Moy by nearly 20 points some statement.

Cookstown very young but full of energy and drumquin will be looking to do better than last year.

There will be a lot of twists and turns this year in D2. Pomeroy Derrylaughan and the Moy all losing in the opening weekend. Owen roes will be pushing as well

Quote from: Themanupnorth on June 07, 2026, 09:34:00 PMSome amount of upsets across both div 1/2 this weekend.
Mental!!!
What upsets was there?
Moortown, Cookstown, Naomh Eoghan, Rock, Glenelly winning.

I'm sure the teams would disagree, Cookstown beat Gortin on friday night but beating greencastle is an upset?
Moortown at home to omagh , naomh eoghan won by 19 points and glenelly are 4/4 .. not really big upsets

We have a lad going on a 2.5 week holiday. Going to miss 5 matches, 5 matches out of 14 league games, more than a third of the season.
As you say, one basic muscle strain could see you miss most of a league campaign. That's not right.

Is it third from bottom, plays second bottom, with team third bottom having home advantage and losers relegated and thats it finished with whoever finishes last relegated automatically.
If you are asking did I support the Soviet Union, yes I did. Yes, I did support the Soviet Union.

Pomeroy Derrylaughan thursday night, both teams missing a heap of players from what i could gather based on seeing them both last year.. injuries? holidays? travelling? Moy v NE yesterday, no Conroy but was playing against Aghyaran on Friday? Was in Oneill park Friday night, Galbally very strong second half

TheDergView

Did conroy play yesterday? Heard he was injured but then also heard that Barry Eóin Maze stifled him?
Some result for NE, hope they still have the open top bus from beating Coalisland last year.

I think you're right - there is no play off for Div 1 / Div 2 and Div 2 / Div 3 like there always has been

Ie. 3 up 3 down cannot happen, only way to get out of intermediate is to win the league or championship. At least I think I recall hearing this a few months ago before our never ending pre season

Conroy in a boot from what I hear, must have done it on friday. Not sure how bad or if just precautionary measures from the county set up.

Is Thursday nights fixture between Dregish and Pomeroy the title decider ?

Possibly, think Dregish be too strong, they have a good spine of players. Gavin Traynor in nets, Caolan McNamee full back and young joe Gallagher corner forward all flying.

If Naomh Eoghan lose players to injury would they have 20 players in depth to replace? mayse back up with ballinamallard, how long before they give him the curly finger to stop playing
