I'd expect no change to full forward line - Dunne, Keyes, Conroy in one order or another. I'd say we'll hold Dowling in reserve until we need something different. I didn't hear about Conway but Cody Comerford must be coming into the picture now again. Back from injury, playing matches and training.

Looking forward to Saturday. Hopefully we are peaking at the right time and we get over the line.

We are definitely playing a lot better than last year and look more like a team with a plan.

We flattered to deceive last year and I expected everything to click in the final against KIldare. I was fairly wrong on that count.

Anyhow best of luck to Tommy and the lads.

I see the forecast is for rain on Saturday hopefully it's reasonably clear for the game.

The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

Laois Rising

Surely it's third time lucky for this Laois team. Hopefully weather stays dry in the afternoon as I think we are the better skilled team and perform best when conditions are good.

With the link to the All-Ireland series gone it is madness that after tomorrow we wont see the hurlers again until next year. Surely this competition could be played into July with the final played as the first game to whatever All-Ireland hurling semi-final is played on the Sunday. I would even suggest that you could add a neutral venue round to the Joe McD. Every team plays two home and two away games with the final round of games all in Croke Park. You could put them on the same weekend as the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

That would spread out the season nicely. Give teams time between games and an extended time hurling together well into the summer. It would surely help teams progress and develop. I hate the fact we are coming into the summer and the championship is done and dusted. I love heading to the All-Ireland hurling games in the summer and seeing likes of Dublin beating Limerick or Tipps win over Kilkenny. Wouldn't it be even better seeing Laois playing on the same day in the opening game.

As an outsider, is Eoin Reilly a relatively new goalie? Can't remember him last year.

Best of luck to tommy and crew tomorrow hopefully they can pull it off. We really could do with the win . Hopefully tommy has address the issues.  Back need to be tight and forwards need to take score from correct man in the right position.
Best of luck to all involved it not going to be simple but it's there for the taking.

Hurled in goals for Laois for years prior to Rowland. Recently returned from abroad, and has rightly taken the #1 spot based on the evidence I have seen.

Best of luck to all today . Bit of a gamble starting Cody after so long out maybe , and personally I would prefer if Podge is in full back line again . Carlow ff line big strong and good in the air .

Yes they caused us lots of problems before with their direct running and physicality up front, if Laois can deal with that they should get it done

I foolishly went on to the GAA page on the national broadcasters website to double check the throw in time, I assumed seen as they are broadcasting it they would at least have one article about the game. Nope.

RTE clearly couldn't care less about promoting the game. What a joke.

Decent first half from Laois after a poor stat. Both sides guilty of basic mistakes and bad wides but Laois overall greater quality throughout the side giving them the edge but they need to be smarter with their decision making.

Great to get win after last few years but far from convincing. Still in a final the win is all that matters. The game was summed up by the Laois goal in a way, lots of mistakes by both teams before it eventually came across to Cillian Dunne to bury it to the net. He got a super point near the end under the Hogan stand also.

Carlow will be kicking themselves though, not sure their final wides tally but they had hit 20 wides by the 62nd minute which tells it's own story.

That goal was made by brilliant work from Dowling!

Yes, good win, convincing enough in the end, Brilliant to be moving up, but Joe Mc was weak this year. I assume Tommy Fitz will be given the option if he wants it, and he did very well to turn it around after the first day against Carlow. However, is he the man to drive it on or do we need someone from outside? I don't fancy our chances of staying up, either way - but perhaps a bit of stability is what's needed?
