Why the pep announcement when there were still 2 games to play, did it not create an extra distraction for city

1-1 too little to late?

Yes too late,  Congratulations Arsenal. Ideal finish to the league season for them as can now rest players for the weekend and throw their lot into the Champions league final.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

I know it's fashionable to describe every season as the worst ever, but Arsenal are fitting champions for one of the worst football competitions in history. Truly dour, attritional football was the season summed up, and with Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle and Tottenham all downing tools for long periods, there was next no jeopardy or side stories.

It'll be interesting to see if Arteta changes things up in terms of playing style now the monkey is off his back.

If not, I'd expect the powers that be might have to intervene and find ways to encourage a more entertaining spectacle.

Horrible season. Revolting champions.

Absolutely. Most interesting thing about it has been laughing at Liverpools brutal title defence and the fact Spurs are still in a relegation scrap going to the last day.

Some green shoots from United under Carrick but huge question marks over what they do in the summer and how he/that squad will cope with more games next year.

2 goals for a shot outside the box?

Tap and go?

1 v 1 at the  throw-in?

Congrats to Arsenal. Anyone who wins a league deserves it of course. Mostly they have bored the tits off me.

Hoping Everton beat Spurs now and we see how the chips fall thereafter

This Premier league will be remembered for long throws and rucks during corners.

Even the saviours of the glorious game, Liverpool reverted to this at the end and will get Joe Gomez another year of cameo appearances.

Arsenal were the most consistent team over the year and deserved the title on the strength of that alone.

It's up to the rest to improve.

Wouldn't have United in that camp they made significant improvements coming from 15th position last year to 3rd this year.  The issue in the first part of the season was a Manager being stubborn with a system that clearly didn't suit the personnel at his disposal and ignoring a player (Mainoo) who was significantly better than some of the players he had playing in the team every week.

Look-Up!

Arsenal with plenty of detractors. Might be deserved at times but doesn't make the title victory any less deserved. Most worthy of the bunch.

Felt sorry for Bournemouth last night. Should have won that by 3 or 4 and made Liverpool work for CL place at the weekend. But if you don't put them away you get what you deserve in the end.
On that note Pep and City are a strange one. Look best team in the league at times by a distance but fail to convert their chances and throw away some amount of points. The game against Everton will hurt them a lot when they look back. Even last night, I thought first 10 minutes of second half they looked ready to go to town but Pep made 3 strange substitutions that totally killed them and let their opponents totally overrun them in midfield and change momentum. Like a team where players and manager are at odds.

Quote from: Captain Obvious on March 06, 2026, 12:07:57 PMLooking at Manchester City remaining games I foresee them getting 18 points from those games giving them a season total of 78 points.

If my calculations are correct Arsenal will only need 12 points from their remaining nine games and they have Everton,Burnley,Bournemouth,Newcastle,Fulham to play at home.

Only two questions on Arsenal right now.  How many games to spare will they win this seasons Premier League title by? And how good of a Champion are they really?

Won't have the answer to the 2nd question until next season and the manner on how they defend their title, should they fall away as badly like Liverpool have this season then enough said.

My post from a few months ago.

Manchester City currently on 78 points.

Arsenal have won it with one game to spare.

Was listening to one of the Irish Independent podcasts and they said the Hill Dickinson was almost empty when Seamus Coleman came out with his family for his farewell.

Can't believe the fans wouldn't want to show their appreciation, so am assuming it was a f**k-up on the part of the club?

Maybe a bit biased given he's a fellow south Donegal man, class act and GAA enthusiast, but has there ever been a better value player?
