The early word from BBC was that it was precautionary.

Which could mean anything.

Seriously lad. Liverpool should never have been close in that game. Delusion of the highest order.

That's the famous MR mindgames  ;D

Liverpool definitely the poorer of 2 poor teams. The great and the good of Europe won't be losing much sleep this summer over either side. Big changes needed over the summer and for Liverpool it may need to be in the dugout too.

Milltown Row2

From watching the collapse in the second half there was only one team looking like they'd win..

That pinball effort would have won it I felt, Utd seen it out but sure everyone sees things differently
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Carrick and his management has surely earned themselves at least a one year contract now?

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Look-Up!

Very impressive TBF

Need to view that table in the context of no European games and no league cup or FA cup games. Finishing in the CL places, from where things were when he took over is a good achievement all the same. Still conceding too many goals despite having a decent keeper.

Reality is that further significant investment in the squad is needed to maintain this position in the league, never mind get back to challenging for the title. Premier league is so physically demanding that players need to be rotated or they will get injured. At times this season United have been down to the bare bones even with only the league to play in. I think the recruitment has been more successful with the new assholes running it. I think 4/5 new starter quality players needed which won't be easy.

Carrick will probably get the job. I don't see anything out there that's likelier to work. Holland is an experience and good coach. I've never bought into the manager being the problem, bar Mourinho who should never have been appointed and Amorim who got sucked into a war with the media which led him to make self harming decisions.

Liverpool are very poor, expected United to win and game should have been out of sight at half time. The game got too stretched in that 2nd half and doesn't suit United especially Casemiro & Shaw these days. Casemiro missed a very easy chance at 2-2!

United have had a lot of average performances since Carricks first few games but as Maguire stated its obvious we're better in both boxes which has led to winning a lot of games without playing well for long periods. This United team doesn't have enough athleticism, would loved too have seen Casemrio stay but people have got carried away with his performances, he got man of the match last Monday despite a poor first half. He's prime example of  why United have bene good in both boxes, he's superb!!

United will spend huge money this summer, they'll buy a minimum of 5 players. Anderson has to be the no 1 target, only way United are getting him if he really wants to come to OT as City will offer a lot more for him.

They need to spend big for sure, would love Casemiro to stay for another year and only play once a week, the experience and aerial ability he brings is invaluable. Him, Shaw, Maguire in the same team obviously lacks a lot of legs but all 3 have been brilliant and along with Bruno will be hugely difficult to replace in the next few years

They need to build a team around Bruno and give him the opportunity to lead a decent side for a season or two and see where he can take them.

War chest inbound, Peter Schmeichel was along the right lines pushing for someone like Granit Xhaka

Leon Goretzka, Robert Lewandowski, Julian Brandt and Jack McCarron would be serious additions on free transfers with a lot more games to plan for next year

Yesterday's news and I'm only seeing this now.

QuoteManchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has won the Football Writers' Association's men's Footballer of the Year award.

Midfielder Fernandes has scored eight goals and provided 20 assists in 34 games across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.

Fernandes finished with 45% of the votes from the FWA's 900-plus members.

He claimed 28 more votes than Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice in second, while Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was third.

Portugal international Fernandes has played a key role in United's upturn in form under interim boss Michael Carrick.

He is the first United player to win the FWA men's award since Wayne Rooney in 2010.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

johnnycool

Is Carrick getting the job full time then?

I hope United's money men hold firm with Barcelona regarding. The fee agreed last year is an absolute pittance - Rashford is worth at least twice that. If Barcelona are crying poor mouth then they should be told where to go. I'd prefer to bring him back to United than have the complete piss taken. Or get a proper fee on the open market. United need lots of players to maintain where they are in the league (you'd hope for better naturally) and play in Europe (and assumjing they don't get knocked out at first stage of cup competitions.
