it's all politics. Hatred against some clubs, manager getting an extra term after doing nothing. I don't know who to blame

Same with the hurling.

Minors vs Wexford at 12 in O Moore Park on Saturday. Very competitive against Galway; it'd give us some boost to see us take a scalp.

Celtic Challenge team are playing Antrim then at 2 (COE) before the senior game.
Good chance to see how our underage depth is as Antrim had a big win over Offaly in CC last weekend.

On yesterdays results from the Laois Gaa website

U17 Westmeath 0-26 Laois 0-13, again very disappointing no matter how good a Westmeath team is we shouldn't be losing by 13,
Westmeath team based off the back of a good Mullingar schools team,we're back to the same problem at secondary schools level
I understand 10 u16s were on our panel so maybe good experience for them for next year ?

U15 Results
Laois Blue 3-21 Tipperary Gold 1-11
Laois White 4-21 Westmeath 2-7

U14s beat Offaly & Kildare

Maybe glimmers of hope ?

We usually have two teams at under 16. We had three for a while a number of years back.
They used to be regional but they've moved to more of an A and a B team kind of approach last year. This was the B team that played Laois. The A team played one of Kerry's teams at home at the same time

Wasn't at the game today, but I  this could see this sort of thing coming. Don't know that the training was up to intercounty level, and I know for sure the Offaly boys put in a harder shift - the only reason they beat us. They got a worse shellacking off Kilkenny, though, so I suppose that's some consolation...

Laois man

We are so far behind it's sad really. Talk about winning Joe mcdonagh but after a year and a few big beatings we will be back down no vision from the county board. Happy to just tip away get in managerment just to cover there arse and don't cost to much.

Laois Rising

I'm still optimistic looking at the work that has happened in the last couple of years-it might take another two/three years to see it at minor level and then another couple years for that to progress to u20 levels. Things are a little brighter with the younger crop of juveniles coming through. Bu no means I'm saying things are perfect and there is still a long, long way to go. More man(woman) power needed to help out to drive things on. Sadly, we don't have the same number of individuals as some other counties there either who have the time or expertise to give.

It was inevitable to everyone following Laois GAA that we would end up where we have the last few years. There wasn't the right personnel in driving things and giving the proper leadership, motivation, planning or guidance needed for us to keep pace with other counties. I got slated here at start of year for pointing out faults in the composition of the minor panel. It was crystal clear that panel was exceptionally weak-no fault of the lads on the panel. However, the lack of high level coaching received over the years (e.g. schools, development squads) and the number of clubs badly struggling for numbers and or good coaches to drive things on all came home to roost.

The real town

Another year over for our minors today with a heavy defeat in tier 3 competition.listen to the podcast and it would have you optimistic. Things need to change which is very obvious. Talking to a parent who has a boy on the laois under 16 panel and he saying there same problems down there father with sons on the teams. We have to get away from that coaches going up the grads with their sons.doesn't look good
Hopefully things change
