Yup can't see the winner of Galway Roscommon pulling off a shock in the final.

Final two group games of the U17 championship starting at 7pm.  Roscommon already into the final.  2nd and 3rd into the semi final

Half time
Mayo 0-8 Galway 0-6
Leitrim 0-8 Sligo 1-7

Results
Mayo 1-12 Galway 2-10
Leitrim  0-11 Sligo 3-19.

Sligo at home to Galway in the semi final
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Sligo ahead by 17 looks like Sligo and Galway in the semi
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

Thankfully Galway got the job done even though losing would have been the same to them unless they got thumped.

Commentators said a neutral venue for semi final? I'm not sure how it works. A welcome boost. Has been a tight championship with exception of Leitrim who will be decent next year.

Cunny Funt

Well done Sligo, the one point win against Mayo last weekend proved key.

It's neutral venues for Connacht U20 semi-final and final.  For U17 it's the opposite of the venue from the group stage matches.

So Sligo will play Galway in Tubbercurry or Markievicz Park.

Can they not have the same for both grades,?
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Surely the team that finishes above the other in the table should get home advantage?
That is always the way in any club championship I've ever been involved in where 2nd plays 3rd in a semi final.
The top team (rightly) gets rewarded with a passage straight through to the final so 2nd should be rewarded with semi final home advantage for finishing above the 3rd team.

Galway favourites to win again tonight. (Galway 5/4 Roscommon 5/6, draw in 60 minutes 15/2)

Match can be watched here.

Half time Galway 0-9 Roscommon 1-4.  Young Tribesmen have scored with all bar one of their shots while the rossies wasteful including a few other goal chances.

Full time Roscommon 2-10 Galway 0-15.

Best team won.  Roscommon v Mayo final in Tuam next Wednesday.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Rhubarbs would bate the pick of the 2 teams tonight.
Still we're in the Final so they "only" have to bate us.

Mayo best team so far alright and their hammering of Galway was ominous but there's areas where Roscommon have superiority. Unusually, it's not with naturally scoring forwards whereas Mayo has two top class forwards. But we are good at winning possession with a very strong half back line. Can we catch a bit of fire with the point scoring and start putting away more of the goal chances. Another session with Chris O'Dowd may be required by Boyle Abbey.

Was only 4 points between Mayo and Roscommon in the group stage a few weeks ago and it took a Kobe McDonald two-pointer free to secure the win in added time.

Main question I'd have on Roscommon is how much that hard earned win last night has taken out of them? Next Wednesday will be a 3rd game in 14 days while Mayo will be refreshed with the week off.

On the other hand playing regularly vs a crowd who'd been lazing for 2 weeks..
