That impressive win for Roscommon Minors has put them into the Connacht final with a group game to play. Did the same last year before winning Connacht.

Two U20 games at 6.30pm tonight.

Galway v Sligo in Tuam
Leitrim v Mayo in Carrick on Shannon

Half time

Galway 0-11 Sligo 0-5
Leitrim 0-5 Mayo 2-12

Full time

Galway 1-13 Sligo 0-15
Leitrim 1-12 Mayo 3-21
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Sligo v Mayo in Tubbercurry at 6.30 is basically a play off to see who will likely play Galway in the Connnacht U17 semi-final

Roscommon already into the final have selected a B team tonight so opportunity for Leitrim to get a positive result?

Awful night for football with the wind and rain.

Does this mean we play Galway in the semi final?
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

If Mayo beat Galway by less than 7 points ,Sligo are out and Mayo will play Galway in the semifinal

The way it is for the U20 Connacht group stage and I guess it's the same for U17

"If three teams finish on the same number of points, results between those three teams, and not scoring difference, will decide the placings"

On that basis any win over Galway would send Mayo into the semi final.

None of the 3 teams are guaranteed a semi final yet.
I'm pretty sure what I've listed below are all the possible scenarios.

Scenario 1: Galway beat Mayo
Who Qualifies? Galway and Sligo

Scenario 2: Galway-Mayo is a draw
Who Qualifies? Galway and Sligo

Scenario 3: Mayo beat Galway by 8 points or more
Who Qualifies? Mayo and Sligo

Scenario 4: Mayo beat Galway by less than 8 points
Who Qualifies? Mayo and Galway
(If Mayo win by exactly 7 points then Galway and Sligo are both on -3 scoring difference so Galway would advance on the head to head rule having beaten Sligo already)

The results between the three teams would be one win for each of them so it goes down to scoring difference just in the games between those three teams.
Any Mayo win would send them through alright because they have -1 scoring difference re nice whereas Sligo are on -3.

Sorry - I'm a bit confused here. Are we talking about U17? If we are, how Sligo do against Leitrim obviously hugely important but nobody has mentioned it above.

Talking about U17. Sligo have been mentioned and need to beat Leitrim for the three way tie to happen. And Mayo to beat Galway

With those results three teams would finish on 4 points and results between each other will decide who finish 2nd and 3rd in the table.

Conclusion of the U20 group stage tonight.

They may give the Rhubarbs the Cup now and give winners of Ros/Galway a Shield.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.
