We'll see. All things being equal, the GOP should get an absolute hiding in this year's midterms, like record book levels of defeat.

But, a significant minority of the US doesn't give a shit what Trump promises, what he does or doesn't do, what billion-dollar levels corruption he and his family engages in, who he betrays, who he screws over, as long as he is making the libs cry. Anything they can't explain away is simply a leftist plot.

The man who was elected on releasing the Epstein files, solving inflation and keeping the US out of wars is instead all over the files and using his DOJ to try to suppress that fact, has upset long standing trade systems and unleashed moronic, ill-thought out tariffs on the world, and is now sinking the US into an impulsive, ill-thought-out, unwinnable war in the Middle East after shredding the government agencies who are supposed to advise the country on foreign intelligence and policy and surrounding himself with unprincipled, career-minded sycophants who are afraid to tell him the truth.

But they don't give a bollocks. They'll contort themselves in any impossible, embarrassing direction to defend him and rationalize their support.

He's still got a good 35-40% of the country on his side. The only hope is that the swing voters have learned their lesson, but that's not guaranteed. Especially with the GOP now trying to pass legislation which will cost a good chunk of the electorate their right to vote if passed.
