Definitely. I wouldn't have Meath above Armagh or Dublin. If they prove it this year then fair play, but not at the minute.

In this system Meath had a high ranking from last year when they beat Kerry etc and they are winning games in Div 2 while Armagh are losing games in Div 1. However, both Dublin and Armagh played for a half at the weekend at a level that would challenge Meath.

Would be interested to see how we'd get on against Meath. Donegal annihilated them last year but they did beat Galway and will have improved from that.

the rankings by Laoisman on Boards.ie make some sense. One thing is notable, Connacht has 3 teams in top, and Ulster has only 2. A year ago, 4 Ulster teams would have been ahead of Roscommon.

It's a pretty decent system but one of the limitations is that a big factor is the teams you have played recently. I'd imagine this is especially noticeable around now towards the end of the league when every team has only played teams in their division for the last while.

Only 3.8 points separate Armagh in 6th from Louth in 12th which is really not a lot when you consider Donegal lost 4.5 points/Roscommon gained 4.5 points from their one match. From what I've seen this system gives a good general overall idea on where a team is but it has it's limitations.

Roscommon got +4.5 precisely because there was a gap of 19 with Donegal before that game. Armagh would get similar boost for beating Kerry, whereas the Tyrone-Cork game won't affect the rankings much as they are similar teams.
