I can't help but think  that there's going to be  a serious  amount of side effects down the line with these  injections

Was reading   some comments below in that article.  One said  the government should open up  NHS gyms. Would  probably be cheaper than  continually handing out   these jabs

going down the US route here.

There should never be an incentive, financial or otherwise for proscribing drugs to a vulnerable patient in your care.

I'd agree. I don't think GPs are desperate for 3 grand but if these drugs are effective at reducing obesity related pressures on the NHS then they're well worth it.

Our carb heavy healthy plate recomendations are the root of it. We all get to a point where we cant outrun it no matter what training you do. The wholemeal story is nonsense also. You can only store fat when insulin is raging though your veins so why does it not occur to anyone to not provoke it so much, unless you are addicted of course.
Too many docs just follow the basic standard of care as if we are all cardboard cut outs. Anecdotally, an 85yr old relative of mine was found to have slightly elevated blood pressure, the GP immediately precribes 2 BP lowering drugs.
3 weeks later they collapse getting out of bed, 3 days in hospital, taken off 1 of the drugs and monitored. Seen by another GP who took more than the 5 minutes and deprescibed the 2nd BP drug. Also saying they were in amazing shape for 85! Lets say there was a resulting hip fracture to deal with as a result of this, the statistics would point to game over.
So Iatrogenic harm is a real issue and if you place all your trust in the current medical system you'd better tread carefully.
