That Dublin v Monaghan 1st half looked like a dog's dinner.  So many turnovers!  Every pass seemed like a suggestion, were any made with authority.  I was curious to see how low scoring the game would be.  7-7 with Monaghan messing up three goal chances and Dublin missing two.  Even with all the poor play it could have been 3-7 2-7 - 16-13!  RIP defensive football?

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on February 14, 2026, 06:37:22 PMI thought if the keeper touches it that it's only a 1 pointer.

When did they change that rule?

This year

A few keepers don't seem to  be aware of the change either, I noticed.

A few of them  shouting to the  officials they got a hand  to it.

They need to take lessons from Davy Fitz.

Seriously, during the off season I would have thought an objective observer would have noted how the balance between offence and defence had been distorted drastically in favour of offence.  Yet here's one rule tweek and it just makes for more scoring.

Why don't we discard the hooter and time clocks and say: first team to 50 points wins!  Isn't that where they are trying to take the game?

Yawwwnnnn.
Tough one for us today

A win and we're going places, a loss and we struggle on to stay up.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Good start for young Conor McCahill, a few weeks after playing a McRory Cup semi.

Harold Disgracey

Shocking start from Armagh. 2 Roscommon goals and a 2 pointer in the first 3 minutes.

Ethan Tremblay

Good to see how armagh will cope with being so far behind so soon.

Dr Hyde Park would put premier league pitches to shame, its in some shape!
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

Harold Disgracey

Should have been a 3rd Roscommon goal there. The pitch in The Hyde looks fantastic.

Wasn't expecting Mayo to win up in Donegal, but this has been a terrible performance so far, completely headless.

Good first half from Donegal. Mayo don't look overly bothered so far, especially having had a slight wind advantage in difficult conditions.

Only 11-5 though at the half.

Did Donegal have wind advantage in first half?

Harold Disgracey

25 mins gone. Rossies winning 2-13 to 0-5.

Roscommon hammering the shit out of Armagh. Will be safe now.

Did Donegal have wind advantage in first half?

Looked like it was blowing across, but more to the goal Mayo were playing into.

Donegal didn't take any long shots at all, while Mayo attempted a few long shots and early long balls.
