He certainly thinks he is. Judging by reaction on darts forums not so sure...

Quote from: Truthsayer on January 05, 2026, 04:55:27 PM2026 Premier League selected albeit a boring series of exhibition games between big tournaments.
The top four in the PDC Order of Merit automatically qualify meaning world champion Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, World Championship finalist Gian van Veen, and Michael van Gerwen were guaranteed their spots.
Then Steve Bunting, Josh Rock, Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton chosen as the wildcard selections.
I do not get the self-proclaimed 'people's champion' Bunting. Noppert unlucky.
Josh and Gerwyn deserved it not sure bout Jonny Clayton.. for personality and entertainment Gary Anderson?... I think he indicated he may not have wanted to take part. Aspinal?
Harsh on Clayton. 5th on Order of Merit and 4th in last 12 months only. Bunting the one rightly being questioned, especially after his performance in the Premier League last year.

Aye fair enough on Clayton. I'm with you on Bunting though, dull as dish water and not playing that well recently.
Is a very repetitive competition anyway... more like series exhibition games.

Yeah the novelty wears off the Premier League after the first few rounds. I'd like to have seen James Wade in instead of Bunting. Not that I'm a big fan of his but he has played well this year and isn't afraid to speak his mind or rub people up the wrong way.

It should be very simple, the top 8-ranked players get in. That is the incentive for good players to make the cut.

Granted, Bunting would also have made the cut based on that criteria. I may have let my dislike of him earlier distort my opinion.

Some game Litter and Price. Match darts miss for Price. What is it? They just can't put Littler away. Psychological.
Only recently was told Price is Reform so not too bothered! Epic game tho!
Winner plays Humphries or Van Veen in the final... tonite. 🎯✨️🏆
World Masters.. ITV 4

Anyone else and Humphries wins that handy. Must be very annoying for him - hitting his peak and a teenager turns up and is one of the best players of all time.

Littler could win 8 or 9 out of every 10 tournaments for the next 20 years.

Calm down that's not going to happen.

Win 4 out of every 5 comps he enters. I think it could.

No doubt he is brilliant but too many variables to be predicting for 20 years! Humphries and Price had match darts but they can't seem to get across the line on him.. yet.
Is also maintaining that desire to win for so long, is huge talent coming through teens on the way, all them kebabs cud catch up... start with predicting next 3 years and we'll see. Im not denying he is an incredible talent.
