Wonder how many poor parents weeks before Christmas had their kids yapping for the advertised products.

Dunno. Don't ever remember my kids looking toys off the LLS.. more into all the entertainment and fun. Is toys and commodities people cant afford waved in shops and everywhere else...

They can just  say no.

The money I've seen  spent on kids of friends and family  at Christmas is absolutely  ludicrous. It'll be  more of the same this year, no doubt.  Some people need to get  a grip of themselves

We'd feck all growing up but we'd a tv and lived next door to the average man, parents didn't fret at Xmas we didn't lose out or felt bad sharing presents (we got an game console between 3 with the game that came with it)

Saying no is and was ok, I been telling my wife that for the last 26 years, she never listens lol!

People can't afford.. but some of these same people (generalising) have tattoos, go to Benidorm, smoke or vape don't look for work.

You were lucky. We lived for three months in a newspaper in a septic tank. We used to have to get up every morning at six o'clock, clean the newspaper, go to work down the mill: fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home our Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt!..

Its weeks before Christmas and the RTE flagship show is running a 3 hour toy advertising campagin when parents are struggling, on top of which fire us all your spare money, who has that.

Well plenty do obviously if there was such a big amount raised...

Yeah everyone is flash with cash, cheap heating, fuel, food, housing, big brands getting 3 hours of free advertising throwing out a few free toys to everyone in the audience whilst average Joe is asked to stump up for toys for those in hospital etc, you couldn't make it up.
