Looks like Niall Fitzgerald is the new Tipperary Senior Football Manager , takes over from Philly Ryan who sadly passed away last Month . The Moyle Rovers Man has done great work with Tipp Under 20`s over the last 3 years and will have a nice crop of young Players who he has worked with previously coming through . Well respected in the Game in Tipp and beyond .

Theres no one in Fermanagh who knows enough about football that a Donegal man has to take manage the county team??

Philly McMahon departs from Naas.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Donegal coach Barrett who left Donegal a few months ago to pursue further education is gone to Derrys backroom team for the year ahead.

Something doesn't add up here?

Was there a rift in the camp?

Very sad news about Philly Ryan. I remember him as a good goalkeeper.
When you say Fitzgerald has done great work with 20's, what did he do?

Knocked out by Clare in his first year by 3 Points after taking a hammering of the same opposition the year before . 2024 the first year of the Munster Round Robin at Under 20 , 2 wins and a draw in the first Phase , competative v Kerry and Cork in Phase 2 and beat Clare . This year 3 wins in Phase 1 , fantastic performance against Kerry in Phase 2 if we had taken some of the numerous goal chances created would have beat them , beat Clare and a couple of strange Ref calls v Cork seen us miss out on a Munster Final on points difference .
Disapointing that he stepped down as Under 20 Manager before Philly passed away , we were hoping he would stay on and contintue the great work being done at this level however he is where he is now and the best of luck to him probably the best man for the job within the County .

After two years in charge Anthony Cunningham has stepped down as St Brigids manager.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

A few hurley stuff managers stepping down, Davy Fitzgerald,D Lyng, P Queally and K Rossiter to date.
Be another few weeks before some football ones walk the plank.

With my cynical hat on I wonder how many intercounty managers have had a look at the Amateur Status Commmittee's motions both passing at Conference and the proposed licensing system with caps on expenditure, much tighter reporting on expenditure by management teams, and a whole other range of other bits and pieces that will give Croke Park more oversight over what intercounty managers can and can't do in the not-too-distant future and decided to abandon ship with their loot and head further west for the hills (i.e the club scene which wull likely have more time before it comes under similar scrutiny) Wouldn't be surprised if there was the start of an exodus to the Indian Territory of the club game in both hurling and football this year.
