Heading up to Belfast at the weekend.  I've tried to avoid Amazon and the big chains so far, and buy as much 'local' stuff as poss. Any recommendations for a good independent bookshop in the Belfast area?  Ideally would like to pick up a few books for herself and two 'children' in their 20s.

Others might be able to offer more options, but there is one on Botanic https://noalibis.com/
This is the only one I know of.

This place is across the road from the Ulster Museum. Small, but nice.
Doc would listen to any kind of nonsense and change it for you to a kind of wisdom.

Great shout, just gave them a wee turn online there. Will be glad to visit in person sometime soon.

Too early?......

Bit of advice have a 8 year old that's hung up on a drone. There is not a chance in hell I'm waxing 400-500 on a decent drone for him to wrap around a tree on Boxing Day.
Anyone have any recommendations for a cheaper toy like drone? Doesn't need to have big range/ camera or anything like that. Preferably easy controlled.

Decent starter drone and more for use on a calm day (wherever you get one of those) or indoors to get the hang of it.

I'd second a Holy Stone drone

Anyone have an Apple Watch - are they worth the price?

Great product but I stopped using it simply because the battery life is terrible on it.

Cant be arsed with having to charge something every day

My son has one.  All kids seem to be tied to apple for some reason. It's good at what it does, but he literally has to charge it every night.  That would do my head in.

Depending on why you specifically want a smartwatch, there are many other options to look at.

We got one for one of the kids to capture the ECG end of things as surgery was pending .. good job
were able to send info to consultants etc.

Jeepers Creepers

Had one and loved it bar having to charge it every night. Dropped it and it smashed . Replaced it with an amzfit  watch at half  the price. Does the same thing and battery lasts over a week

Have the newer iterations not improved battery life? That's usually how Apple operates
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Moreso the older ones deteriorate over time and you end up buying the new one which isn't great but better

I've an Amazfit as well. Like you, I can go a week between charges. T-rex 2, got it on sale for about US$120 last year as they were bringing out the next gen one.

Does pretty much all that the Apple watch I had before it did for me.
