Monaghan and Tyrone teams are just strong at this level. Glenullin should be nowhere near the intermediate championship.

Glenullin would be the first to agree

Carrickmacross have thoroughly deserved to be division 2 and intermediate championship for that period - for the talent they have they have massively underachieved. They have I think 16 players (at least) that have played for Monaghan at a minimum of U21/U20 level at some point and 1 current Louth U20, James Maguire, who is very good. Stephen O'Hanlon is the main man for them, but I'd expect Fionan Carolan and Mathew Carolan to be Monaghan senior team players in the not too distant future. They are top players. One wild card for Carrick is Dualta Honey, who had a big impact in the intermediate final, but he players soccer for Newry so I'm not sure he is available all the time for Carrick.

And Clonoe are probaly the favourites for the competition. Irvinestown were Division also 1. County players are only available for 1 league game in Cavan . It has no bearing.

Fermanagh afaik only has two divisions.

Glenullin beat the 2024 All Ireland club winners en route to a top ten finish in the Derry league, the club that finished 10th in Armagh played in the SFC final. Here's hoping for a Clonoe/Carrickmacross final

Glenullin should be playing senior, that's the grade they want to be in (but for restructuring / a year of Covid they would) . Glenullin beating a Watty's reserve team in the league.... 🤔

Have they not won 3 intermediates in 4 years or something daft? Nearly makes me want to (boke) support the Tyronies in the interests of fairness.

Not Glenullin's fault in fairness. It's Derry county board who hadn't the stones to follow through and relegate clubs like they said they would. Again, if Derry did things properly and had a third of it's clubs in each championships they'd have teams of at least this strength winning every year. Even this year multiple Intermediate clubs in Derry got within a 3 or 4 points of them, they just happen to have played a couple weaker sides in the competition in Ulster.
