The calendar year is awash with fixtures.. fitting it in is difficult.. weather here is poor at start of season and end, when would you feel it would be best?

I was just referencing the weather  8)  but if you want to have this discussion (again)

Minor championship should start earlier and be finished by mid Sept to allow lads play/concentrate on schools football.

U21 should then be run after that. The sole purpose of u21 is to bridge to adult football, if lads are already starting in the senior championship they don't need to be playing u21.

Tell that to the managers, if I'm manager I'm looking my best players available to me, if I'm a player I want to be playing the grade with my friends, the lads I grew up with..

Play your grade, you've the rest of your senior career to play at that level.. Start earlier like March? Be a better time, well before exams and colleges and holidays concerts and so on

Quote from: imtommygunn on October 18, 2025, 09:25:02 PMThe Peter Healy playing for Ballyboden - it's not the former Antrim player is it?
Living in Dublin for the past decade, he transferred from St Enda's Glengormley to St Enda's Ballyboden.

Yes Healy is an excellent player and was a big loss for Naomh Eanna. You'd expect him back with Antrim although if he's based in Dublin he may not be able.
Quote from: bannside on October 22, 2025, 06:45:49 PMEamon McCann also involved. Very highly rated by players, managed Cargin for a few years. Knows his stuff. Talking to one seasoned panellist, so far likes what he sees and hears about the set up. We get behind the team and management from the start. New slate, new opportunity.
Any word on the new Antrim managers backroom team? Had heard he was struggling to get people. Surprised he was appointed without a backroom in place. Mick McCann is a good one although he hasn't any coaching experience. He'll need a few more men I'd have thought.

Next thing Tomas and Paul will be asked back to the panel and 8 Cargan lads will all of a sudden have a passion to represent their county..

Hardly get 8 from Glenravel Lol!

Eamon mccann is a very good appointment to the backroom. I'm very optimistic about the way this is shaping up. Hopefully we are in for a positive year for the County trajectory

Senior @ 6.00

Owenbeg would have suited and probably would have headed up if it was a Sunday 2pm job, not sure now

Be interesting to see how Dunloy adapt, plenty of Derry knowledge in their camp so ya never know, Newbridge probably won't allow too much space for the Elliots, Molloy and Cunning to get on the ball

Moved to owenbeg, same times same day.
