Quote from: Mourne Red on October 05, 2025, 08:57:18 PMSome shite spewed.. Junior belongs in Newry were it's always been played.

Double header with the intermediate or the Senior final.

Does it belong on a Friday evening at 7.15/7.30? What time would the players involved need to leave work, meet up and then head into Newry for a warm up, etc? It might be the biggest game some the players involved ever play in, surely they deserve more than a Friday evening?
The two clubs involved in the junior final would be pretty small clubs I'm assuming-how do Kilclief manage to field in both hurling and football with such small numbers?

Definitely needs changed from a Friday night. Players should get the opportunity to prepare properly for it, instead of the rush home from work and no time to even eat properly prior to the game. Fair enough with a Friday night league game, but as you say this could be their biggest game. It's only fair they get every chance to play to their maximum.

Quote from: Sandstorm on October 05, 2025, 10:54:30 PMShambles of a referring display in Esler, clear red card not given against Clonduff. Won't matter anyway in the long run. Burren Kilcoo final already assured, and this year I can see Burren beating the magpies easily. Kilcoo were dreadful against the yellas last week and weren't tested the week before against the Ford. Odhran Murdock is a cut above anyone else and Burren will have too much firepower for them up front this year. Big Treanor, Murdocks and half a dozen other county men in the ranks, only a matter of time before they start winning SFCs regularly again.  No Kerr or Magill against Island last day out and they looked as good as I've seen them in years. Hopefully we have a new champion this year, can see it coming back to Burren. They could give Ulster a real rattle

O dear, what's another year.

Referee did us no favours. And then didn't send Odhran off because he knew he had given Carryduff every single decision so tried to balance it all out.

I didn't see the Kilcoo v Clonduff game last night but I read that Barry O'Hagan came on and scored a couple of 2 pointers in a short period of time.

I know he's had serious injury issues but would there be a case for bringing him back to the county set up even as an impact sub role.

A fully fit Barry O'Hagan and  fully fit Liam Kerr would be huge additions to our forward line.

Im a complete neutral with no skin in the game either way. I watched the game in full yesterday and cannot fathom how you can think the ref gave every decision against Burren. Carryduff were simply better drilled, had a superior kickout, dominated midfield and made better use of the chances they created up front. Im my opinion, the result had nothing to do with Faloon.

:o  ::)  ;D

Burren kicked themselves out of that game, no heart and lost the heads at the end. Ref let alot go in the game - don't think it benefitted any team more than the other.

Burren were very disappointing after getting off to a dream start. Kicked 14 or so wides...and got completely dominated in midfield.

Without the threat of Magill or Kerr, Carryduff were able to double and triple up on Murdock and did a fine job on him.

Disappointing from Murdock in last few mins, obviously should have been sent off but I think Faloon had a bit of sympathy for him and knew the game was over so only produced the yellow...good referring to be honest and Murdock will hopefully learn from it.

In the other game, Kilcoo did what Kilcoo do best - got over the line, but not for the first time Clonduff will be kicking themselves, they really left that one behind.

On form, Carryduff could even be favourites for the final and will be confident - but Kilcoo will probably win by a point or two as usual.

Where to start against a big side they lack in every part of the field, lads running around with their heads up their hole,

Definitely wasn't good refereeing.

So if you're beat in a match beat and punch all round you last few minutes and the ref will have sympathy?

He bottled sending off the big county all star man

Hearing big mccrickard and Duffin have been approached for the Burren job.

Gonna take miracle workers with that bunch

Down Senior semi-finals this Sunday.

I'm not expecting Portaferry to have many issues with Bredagh considering the strength in depth at their disposal.

As for the other semi-final ourselves v Ballycran I think this can go either way.

I know we won pulling up in the first game in the round robin, but Ballycran were horrendously poor that day and have over the course of the round robin got a semblance of a better structure to their team and for me we haven't been pulling up any trees since and have now taken on a few injuries to key personnel.
A good few lads are not playing well, some of them their first touch's have been really poor, so will need to find some form to get us over the line.

Whoever wins could be in for a chastening day in the final...

Annaclone pip neighbours Clann Na Banna to make it to the Intermediate final. Bit of controversy will plague the final score of the game as it looked like Annaclone two-pointer to win the game was kicked from inside the arc.
