Quote from: Truth hurts on October 02, 2025, 09:08:04 AMWould it make sense for the county board to reschedule the Carryduff and Burren game for Saturday or Monday in light of the weather warning for tomorrow night?

It definitely would be wise to move it to Sat night at 8pm.
Should be a cracking game. Big word coming from Carryduff that they're on a mission, I guess we've heard it before from them but can they deliver this time, probably last chance for them.

What competition would the previous year's winners of the JHC compete in? Surely they can't be locked in junior forever, there needs to be a tangible path of progression.

I'm not saying keep this format forever but with the current teams and there standards I'd say its the most adequate.

At present I'd have 8 teams in Junior with 2 groups of 4. Top two in each jump into junior A semis and bottom 4 compete for junior B.

Overall winners progresses into the senior the next year, they obviously wont win but the exposure and the fact its senior might bring them on and they can still compete for the intermediate. Repeat this for a couple years to bring teams on then and maybe have 8 teams in senior with the two groups of 4. Top 4 senior, bottom 4 intermediate.

As it stands the intermediate isn't taken too seriously because one of the teams dropping from senior will basically win. A lot of the games in the round robin feel like reserve friendly's from what I've seen.

The game should be moved to sat or Monday night. It's a a hard one to call. Both teams a mission to put the failures of previous years to bed.

I see Fermamagh county board have rearranged both sfc semi finals scheduled for tonight, and they will take place on Sunday instead.

That makes a lot of sense.

What's the verdict for the two semi finals tomorrow folks?

Mourne Red

Ardglass vs Kilclief in the Junior final.. I'd Kilclirf nowhere near getting to the final, be an interesting final with it being a Derby. Hopefully Ardglass can get over the line been togging away well last couple years.

Be even better

Kilclief going well short odds for a Junior double??

It would make sense to play the jfc final in Downpatrick.

Burren leading 1-3 to 0-0 after 5 mins, but Carryduff have dominated since, esp from kick-outs. Only 1 pt in it at half time, but Carryduff have the wind, so must be favourites now

If Carryduff do not win this it will be big disappointment after last year's defeat and particularly with burren not having the services of liam kerr of Danny magill

In the end very impressive stuff from carryduff.

A real hammering in the end; Burren beaten all over the field, and bad losers as well. Something wrong with the Burren attitude.
