If you wrote a novel with a Trump type becoming a President you'd be laughed off the scene by publishers.

It might be a slow death and it won't be pretty.

Is there any sane people in positions of power over there?

How so?

The cheerleading after Kirk's death would have tilted the moderates away.
It'll depend on the economy/inflation. I expect either high inflation or a recession or even both in 2028.

I don't know enough about how things are being viewed over there, but I think there will equally as many people disgusted at the reaction of the right afterwards in trying to weaponise his murder. It's been pretty horrific tbh and I'd say some middle of the road voters won't take kindly to the attempted censorship of the media especially when you hear the cr@p Trump is coming out with now threatening TV licences.

Blue state governors like Newsom.

Blue city mayors are quite powerful.

The Supreme Court, even one as blatantly stacked as this one, is starting to look sane in comparison to the sick twisted demagogues jockeying for position to take over when the inevitable happens and Trump drops dead.

The Chair of the Fed is pretty unassailable, he's kept in position by a complex voting system of regional federal reserve banks. It's highly unlikely that the MAGAs would be able to move all of the levers of power that'd be necessary to oust him, and if they did then it'd be a catastrophe for the world economy. You'd have to forget about the dollar as the world's reserve currency if the adult were no longer in control of it, and the US would lose its ability to live up to its neck in debt. Very hard to see that happening.

Not sure what you mean by cheerleading, I can't say I've seen much of that outside of some social media memes.

You might be right about the inflation/recession thing. For all we know we might be in recession now.

I'd say the mass doxxing campaign by the right is probably going to motivate a lot of Dems to get active and organize to take things back in 2028, so that could backfire.

Texas will be the state to watch in 2028. It's on track to turn blue around that time. There will be a lot of voter suppression and disenfranchisement by the right to prevent that from happening, but there are limits to how much of a difference that's going to make in the face of sheer demographic change.

Its hard to predict a fairly chaotic situation. As the death of Kirk was announced [as it happened] the GOP called for a minute silence and Democrats started shouting/ basically saying FU.

Democrat leadership are terrified of their own base and don't know what to do IMO. The Israel issue has caused them severe headaches.

There was a resolution passed to condemn political violence and approx 90 democrats voted against it.

This is shockingly bad politics , everyone is on the escalation ladder now.

Jimmy Kimmel's late-night television show will return to the air less than a week after the Disney-owned ABC network suspended him "indefinitely" over remarks about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Disney on Monday said Jimmy Kimmel Live! would resume broadcasting on Tuesday. The company had suspended the show last week to "avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country", it said, adding Kimmel's comments in a monologue were "ill-timed and thus insensitive".

US President Donald Trump has designated "Antifa" a domestic terrorist organisation, stepping up his campaign of retribution against political opponents after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Trump signed an executive order on Monday calling Antifa a "militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law". The order would allow US government agencies to "investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations" by the group. Antifa is a decentralised activist movement which takes its name from a shorthand of "Anti Fascist". Trump and his allies have often claimed that Antifa is the source of violent protests in American cities.

Now for the truth backed by irrefutable evidence. Tylenol on it's own does not cause autism but combined with other poisons it can be lethal, leading to Profound Autism.  RFK will get to this eventually. Big pHARMa will then crumble.

It's actually scary to see RFK being taken seriously, after removing all doctors and scientists that won't agree with his unproven theories on vaccines and the gutting of health care all while trying to distract the country with a focus on seed oils and food dyes. His type of crazy used to be sitting on the sidelines and laughed at. Now he's running the show over there. That country is f**ked.
