Clubs were offered the "carrot" of a match in Pearse Park if they would agree to play it midweek. Most passed up the offer.

Sideliner

Ah right, I see now. Not something every club would be on for.

Good win tonight, Laurel. Ye are back on the winning path.
Killoe looked to have made light work of Dromard.

LaurelEye

Killoe 2-13 Dromard 2-6
Mullinalaghta 1-13 Longford Slashers 1-12

I had been surprised to see Dromard installed as second favourites so the first result is not a surprise. As for the second, a win is a win and we'll take it.

LaurelEye

Granard 4-6 Colmcille 2-21
Rathcline 4-17 Fr. Manning Gaels 0-19

LaurelEye

Clonguish 1-18 Abbeylara 2-14

Mostrim 0-10 Carrickedmond 5-14

Shamrock Shore

Mostrim heading for Junior status........

Sideliner

Well it's looking like Mostrim will be in the relegation battle along with Granard in group A.
Drumlish and perhaps Slashers will join them from group B.

Is it two going down this year to Intermediate?

Yes.

In theory.

This is Longford GAA we're talking about, after all.

Sideliner

Hahaha, yes indeed. Anything is possible.

Week 4:

Group A

Carrickedmond v Granard, Friday 8pm, Newtownforbes
Colmcille v Dromard, Saturday 7pm, Newtownforbes
Killoe v Mostrim, Saturday 7pm, Higginstown

Colmcille 6pts +19
Killoe 5pts +9
Dromard 4pts +15

Carrickedmond 3pts +14
Granard 0pts -16
Mostrim 0pts -41

The Carrickedmond/Granard match can settle the question of qualification vs relegation playoffs, while Colmcille/Dromard is the Friendly Encounter of North Longford (checking here whether or not Billy's Boots is awake).

Group B

Fr. Manning Gaels v Clonguish, Friday 8pm, Cloonee
Abbeylara v Mullinalaghta, Sunday 2pm, Legga
Longford Slashers v Rathcline, Sunday 4pm, Carrickedmond

Clonguish 6pts +29
Rathcline 6pts +20

Abbeylara 2pts +9
Longford Slashers 2pts -8
Mullinalaghta 2pts -15
Fr. Manning Gaels 0pts -35

At least possible that Slashers v Rathcline might be the most likely shock of the weekend.

Odds:

Paddy Power (https://www.paddypower.com/gaelic-games/longford-club-football?tab=outrights):

Clonguish 3/1 11/10 5/6
Killoe 5/2 11/2 3/1
Colmcille 9/2 11/2 5/1
Dromard 11/2 9/2 7/1
Rathcline 25/1 10/1 7/1
Carrickedmond 66/1 20/1 10/1
Abbeylara 8/1 10/1 12/1
Mullinalaghta 9/2 10/1 14/1
Longford Slashers 16/1 25/1
Granard 14/1 20/1 90/1
Fr. Manning Gaels 33/1 90/1 125/1
Mostrim 125/1

BoyleSports (https://www.boylesports.com/sports/gaa/outrights):

Clonguish 5/2 Evens 4/5
Killoe 10/3 9/2 3/1
Colmcille 4/1 11/2 5/1
Dromard 9/2 7/1
Rathcline 33/1 10/1 7/1
Carrickedmond 50/1 20/1 10/1
Abbeylara 8/1 10/1 12/1
Mullinalaghta 7/2 10/1 20/1
Longford Slashers 20/1 25/1
Granard 14/1 20/1 100/1
Mostrim 20/1 50/1 150/1
Fr. Manning Gaels 40/1 100/1 150/1

Not really sure why Clonguish managing a one-point win over Abbey has caused the former to move in to an odds-on position while the latter drifts out to 12/1 but I'm not a bookie.

Carrickedmond 0-14 Granard 0-19

Carrickedmond's path to the quarter-finals suddenly acquires a giant crater and 5 points is too big for a counting error.

Clonguish 5-18 Fr. Manning Gaels 0-11

LaurelEye

Colmcille 2-12 Dromard 0-18
Killoe 2-17 Mostrim 0-5

Group A

Killoe 7pts +27
Colmcille 7pts +19
Dromard 5pts +15

Carrickedmond 3pts +10
Granard 2pts -12
Mostrim 0pts -59

Carrickedmond need to beat Dromard (pushing the latter into fourth place) in order to qualify provided that Granard beat Mostrim.

Group B

Clonguish 8pts +51
Rathcline 8pts +35

Abbeylara 4pts +15
Mullinalaghta 2pts -21
Longford Slashers 2pts -23
Fr. Manning Gaels 0pts -57

Mullinalaghta play FMG in our last match and a win would let us crawl through provided Abbey don't lose to Slashers. Abbey would need to lose by 12 not to qualify.
