Best Championship performance since the end of the Gallagher era. My god that was a serious match, intensity and bite we brought was impressive and what all Derry Supporters have been asking for. So many positives the players are pulling together and fighting for each other, wee mention to Big Dan who put himself about and to Patrick McGurk a rookie corner back who didn't take a backwards step all day, Loughlin's work rate was top drawer and can we get 60/70 mins out of Lachlan as that man puts the fear of god into defenders, stands them up and just goes to goal. Derry a completely different team when Lachlan is on the pitch.

Goals killing us but many are forgetting its a partnership between full-back and goalkeeper and their communication between each other. McEvoy is a great talent but its clear to see his best position is not at no.3. We are really missing that bit of nouse, leadership and calming presence at full-back that would clearly help the goalkeeper.

All year we have just not been getting that wee little bit of luck, lineball before the 3rd goal yesterday was 100% Derry ball, ref very hard on us all day. I thought Murray or Tohill were foulded when went to pick up the ball and ref gave a free out for nothing.

Derry much better for that game yesterday than beating a lesser team down the rankings like a Clare etc We are road tested and ready for what is now knockout against Dublin. Doire Abu

To be honest that's as good as anything I seen in Gallagher's rein. Mixed the game up and took out a lot of Galway's threats.

Murray a great sub and I would leave him on the bench for that serious impact as he thrives on the tired defence. Actually on replay I don't think he tried square it to Laughlin for the goal but was a penalty if a goal didn't happen. Galway are struggling but Derry didn't give them a second. If they can repeat the performance they can beat anyone on their day

Derry biggest mistake was when 8pts up and getting joy at Midfield on Galways kickouts, they dropped off allowing 3/4 short kickouts on the left side which Galway had worked to getting 3pts.

I don't think that was deliberate. I think it was a combination of Galway subs rattling us a bit and that we'd slightly run out of steam.

P Tally was wrong in saying if Derry won, they still need something from the Dublin game. If Dublin had beat Derry and Galway beat a weakened Armagh, Derry still would went through on the head to head basis

How? By those results Dublin would have 4 points, Armagh 4, Galway would have 3 points and Derry would have 1. What head to head you talking about?

Ahh just getting you. If Derry had beaten Galway.

Dublin would have 6pts and in 2nd place, they not be on 4, Derry and Galway would been on 3 a piece and Derry would went through on the head to head.

Can't work out anyone who says they would prefer Clones. Newry or Armagh is perfect for Derry. Plenty of our clubs have had good success there and we definitely know it better than the Dubs.

Can someone make sure Lynch is tucked safely into bed around 8pm every night for next week or so.

Yes, I'd be well relaxed after taking three hours to get there, being charged €10 to park in a field two miles from the ground with a fair chance of not getting out of it until the next day, paying €36 for two burgers and three chips and over-priced, flat, warm pints out of plastic glasses.

Ninety minutes to newry, park for free with 500 yards of the grounds, Friar Tucks, then decent cheap pints before the game and stay in the shamrocks club afterwards for a few pints to let the traffic die down. And still home before you'd be out of that field in Clones.

Whatever floats your boat. Maybe it was more that I was young and foolish but I have nothing but good memories of Clones.
