Why are some people so bipolar on Paul Cassidy, one week he's nothing more than a decent club player and he should stay there next week he's more than good for derry

Bro Jolly

Was only able to get terrace tickets for Armagh game- was in behind the goals Doire were shooting into in 2nd half and was very sparse Doire support there- does anyone know if there are any seating tickets left for Celtic Park this Sunday? Thanks

Not that I can see. But then ticketmaster do this often where people panic and just buy a standing ticket. Then miraculously on Thursday seating tickets appear again.

       Mc Kinless/Lynch
Mc Grogan   Mc Evoy   Baker/Mc Closkey
Doherty     Mc Faul    Forbes
      Glass   Rogers
Paul Cass    Higgins   Ethan
Toner/Loughlin    Mc Guigan    Murray

Notable subs:
Rogers
Tohill
Mc Dermott

I think this is about as good as we have at the minute. The only change for me would be McGrogan to the half back line for Forbes. Baker a first pick. Really unfortunate for Gilmore this year who I think has the potential to really kick on. I think a Rogers, Glass, McFaul spine is very solid. Higgins showing a goal threat we badly need. Tohill I don't rate too highly but decent offer off the bench.

You don't rate him but he's a good option off the bench?

He's made the GAA.ie team of the week, never usually see anyone from the losing team on there

There seems to be seated tickets available to buy through the season ticket account so I'd imagine any that hasn't sold by Wednesday, will become available on Thursday or so as stickittotheman says

I can see what he means here.

Really no excuse for some of those teams conceding when they are able to field thirds teams. Coleraine have went ahead an conceded all their reserve matches in Intermediate I noticed also like they did last year.

A couple of corrections at the top. Is reserve football close to dead?

I'm afraid it is, so sad to see this but the writing has been on the wall for the past couple of years.
Imo i honestly think it's a generation problem. Young fellas (not all) these days simply don't want to play but they happy to train and stand in gyms. But minute there a game there unavailable for selection, on the flip side 20 years ago you hated the site of training but never missed a game.
Also the recreation league should only be for players over 30.

I think the biggest issue for the reserve teams in Derry is that the majority of games are on a Sunday, which doesn't really fit in all that well with your average reserve player's lifestyle. The bank holiday weekend round of fixtures yesterday probably exasperated the issue further.

Brendan

What's the solutions? Friday night's for reserves so they have weekends free which would suit those who are a bit fond of the drink? Also gives the more serious ones the opportunity to tog out fresh for their senior panel.

Enter Reserves into the normal leagues and gain promotion/relegation as norma so there is less chance of a game being conceded which is the biggest cause of player drop off from fellas in my club. Even part of the problem getting referees is they dint want to commit to a match that is fairly likely will be called off last minute

Spot on with this comment.

There are some big clubs there and it is hard to believe they can't put out 2 teams.

Situation will only get worse in that if that guys are core reserve and not quite the standard for senior will just throw the towel in completely.
