Quote from: Three leaf clover on March 15, 2025, 10:47:30 PMShame on Antrim GAA for choosing to play a player knowing he has been charged with a hit and run in Martinstown end of October last year. Where is the integrity and what example are they setting to the youth coming behind.

Have you a list of all the criminal convictions of past/current players of your club?

Was that St Paul's creggan match a no show ? That score can't be rite

Hectic

Ridiculous result - what went on there?

The move from 12 to 16 teams last year brought 4 teams out of Division 2 that would possibly have stopped St Paul's seeing division 1 this year.

But even allowing for that, new rules, county players and all other early season caveats there is still something off there.

8 teams per division is where Antrim needs to go IMO.
We have many many problems with our games in Antrim but right from u8 up we seem to get the grading issue wrong.
If a team is playing in a one sided game they'd be better of training instead.

Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Abysmal
I've backed Andy all through, but if we're relegated then it's probably the end of the road.
And then we'll appoint a new manager and the cycle will probably repeat because we're rubbish at underage and have maybe only half a dozen clubs putting in the necessary effort.
If we're throwing money at outside senior managers from whatever source, I'd much rather it was spent on the U14's, but I'm old fashioned.

Bring on the cheerleaders for Andy

Well done to Andy McEntee and our own Terry McCrudden, great job lads. £120k per season over 3 seasons to take us backwards and back down to the basement.

Take the Mark

Plenty of men on here backing the management team (its not just McEntee) for too long now, whilst loyalty is admirable, a losers mentality is not. #SaffronShambles

Start at the bottom and rebuild, there's no division 5!

This plus we have seen just this weekend the clubs in the county run a league structure which does nothing to support player development, it wasn't imposed externally the clubs decided this themselves.

I'd agree If a team gets relegated time for a new voice unless super extenuating circumstances, although you'd want to be sure of who is coming in.

A bit of balance from the rush to the public gallows though. don't think many have particular gra for Andy however in a nip and tuck division the team have been harder to beat. I also don't particularly blame him for players getting stupid red cards which has cost points.

The clubs are not supplying the raw materials , you could stick Jim Gavin in there and it would change nothing.

I'll say again there was a huge Antrim think in after the minors got hammered by Tyrone 2 or 3 years ago. What specific changes have happened at school, club or county scene as a result of that or other efforts? Diddly.

The best help is self help and Antrim is a county unwilling to help itself, happy to focus on clubs competing for juvenile trophies because they have a few big lads who can truck it up the park.
