Has any club moved towards the robotic mower? What are the advantages or disadvantages of these?

Oh Aye I gave the front a cut last weekend, plus a good run over some of the hedging.

I think I saw St Paul's in Lurgan had the robotic mower... or maybe it was the robotic line drawer.

Carryduff had one last year when we were up there - didn't get talking to anyone about it though.

I got the last cut done at the end of November so it's not looking too bad. Could be worth a shot this weekend but there's a lot of rain forecast in the next couple of days.

Yes, they've one doing their main pitch and second pitch via a gap in the fence, looks like a good job.

There's three up at Garvaghy the last time I was there.

Glenarm have two of them. Been up a few times for a practice with the daughter and they've been going. Seem to do a good job.

Our club has one, great job.

WeeDonns

Killyclogher in Tyrone have one.
I was there on a frosty morning before Christmas and you could see the route it had taken earlier – it had just went around all the white lines & then taken a diagonal route from the furthest corner of the pitch back to its charging point. I'd assume you can program in a load of different routes to do in sequence each day so you don't end up with half the pitch cut & half not.
They look like a great job

KC, Dromore both have ones Drumquin trialled one last year but was too small for area needed. Not sure if they went bigger or just got rid. I'd imagine it will be regular for most clubs in the not too distance future.

Watching a robotic mower work yesterday at Kilrea pitch, some article. Don't know how it works, didn't even seen anybody about. Goes up and down the pitch alot faster than I thought.

Works of GPS. It'll have a fixed GPS base station which the robot gets its positioning from. Be accurate to a few centimeters. It'll have its boundaries set up at the start based on GPS position and after that it just goes up and down - all day every day.
