I heard there were tickets widely available around Jones road and a lot of empty seats inside. A problem with tickets is who's going to buy a print off in the hope that it's valid and hasn't already been used?

Reading today that the cost of a 10 year Premium ticket (Cusack/Hogan) has increased from 13,500 to 14,900 (or 16k if paying via a payment plan).  Davin Stand is 13,800 (or 14,900 via a payment plan). 

I'm assuming the average punter ain't buying these, surely it must be mostly corporate.  You'd need to be attending every single game that's held in Croke Park to be getting any sort of value from that.

No empty seats at the hurling, I think the football had some spaces but few

Yes, think it does cover all games ... also gives the right to buy ticket for any concert as well.

No empty seats at the hurling, I think the football had some spaces but few

Maybe its been covered here elsewhere but did think when watching the game on Sunday that there were a lot of empty seats in the stand in Castlebar when normally there wouldn't have been in the past.

In Ballybofey, I was standing beside an affable Donegal person who in turn was chatting to a passing steward. He said that 16,000 were expected, but when the attendance was announced it was 13,000 and something. If the capacity is 17,500 I cannot see where there was space with modern health and safety standards for another 4000.

Funny I thought the same for Armagh vs Tyrone, Athletic grounds is listed as 18500 capacity and attendance was given as 14 something that night, where another 4 would have went I don't know.

Some decrease in two years for the same match in the same venue. Jim Gavin and Co thought we would get close to sell outs for league games with the new rules.

I think it's much too simplistic to look at one game like that in isolation. Two years ago was McStay's first year in charge and there was optimism around the new set up. Mayo were unbeaten in the league and coming off the back of hammering Kerry at home. This time around things have gone downhill under McStay and they were coming off a hammering to Galway. The weather was also worse.

Overall the crowds have been decent for the league despite a complete lack of promotion. In the past the gaa would have been delighted with 13/14,000 for Donegal Armagh and a sold out Tralee for Kerry Dublin.
