Are umpires allowed to call for a square ball in a championship game?  ???

I assume this is on the back of the Burren goal tonight?

Looked a dead cert square ball, but apparently the umpires said it took a deflection so they were the ones that advised the ref that the goal should stand.

Never really worried about that game tonight in truth. This Burren team have been in second gear all year and still no one comes close to beating them apart from Magpies. Kilcoo's time is up, they're not the force they were 2 or 3 years ago. I think this will be the year we see the torch being passed to Burren, who will dominate Down and Ulster football for the next 10yrs+. The talent coming through is scary, another underage championship won on Friday and beat the much fancied Carryduff while in cruise control. Kilcoo might have more titles than Burren for now but Burren are the biggest club in Down. Watch this space, Burren beat Kilcoo by half a dozen in two weeks time. It will finish most of the old guard that have dominated the last decade and they'll go back under their rock for another 50yrs.

I've took a screenshot off this and commenting so this isn't deleted in a fortnights time

I never delete ;D , I'll swallow my pill if needs be. Game of opinion fellas, just giving my two cents. But your reply has been screenshot as well FYI. 0nly drying out from that match tonight but the next two weeks will be fun. Lots to be excited about and big Paddy Burns could have two All Irelands in the space of 12 months. Heard it here first, don't say you weren't told

Should a deflection overrule it though?

Not too sound like Kevin Keegan but "I'd love it if Burren beat them, love it" I just don't know if mentally Burren have it to get over the line, been that many defeats the past years.

Hopefully there'll be no pantomime from Kilcoo over who the ref is this year.

Burren haven't showed any sort of form yet and have stumbled into the county final without being convincing.  Just by being there though of course they have a chance, Kilcoo  will be favourites and most people will have them winning pulling up (me included). Burren have it in them but definitely need to show a bit more than they have so far.

Can't see anything other than a kilcoo win though (by 4 or 5 points)

I was going to buy all the games on Down TV this weekend but by Friday I decided against it. Paid to watch the Burren/Carryduff game and regretted it. Expected Kilcoo and Drumgath to win and wasn't going to be back in time for the other IFC semi.

The club football served up in the county seems to be of a poor standard at the minute. Are we worse than other counties though - maybe it's not actually that bad but it's terrible to watch.

Square Ball

Hospitals are not equipped to treat stupid

At least you have the option. Down 'GAA' TV haven't shown one Hurling game this year AFAIK. Admittedly last round games were one sided but some good games before that. Thank God for Clubber and Antrim SHC streamed too.

I don't know if Down TV are going to show the hurling semi finals this week. You'd think it would make sense to show them but they may not - can't remember if they did last year

They showed the Ballycran V Liatroim semifinal last year.

Is there anything to stop them streaming the 2 games on Sunday JC? Internet etc?

Truth hurts

I'm praying for a good final because the football quality has been horrible. That game with Burren and Carryduff was boring as hell. Will the super coaches not try something different?
