Mullinalaghta 2-12 Carrickedmond 2-12 2-11

Lips unsealed.

The referee explicitly admitted in his report that he got the score wrong and that it should have been 2-12 to 2-11. The video, having been examined at length, showed the score to be 2-12 to 2-11.

Sideliner

Is there going to be any counter appeals now from Carrick or have they accepted their fate?

In fairness, they won't need to fear relegation as they'll surely be able to beat Kenagh.

They have to play Slashers first to decide who plays Kenagh, with the losers playing Mostrim.

There are rumours about an appeal but given that the referee clearly states in his report that the official scoreline was wrong and that the video shows that the official scoreline is wrong, the best that they could appeal on are technicalities in regard to the CCC meeting - a report can be changed by a CCC in the light of compelling evidence, you can appeal on the grounds of a score not being recorded or a non-score being recorded, we clearly objected at the time (there are records as well as video showing our people talking to Frankie Toher before the second half started), and the notion that "if only we knew we'd have gone for a goal" is not a valid ground for appeal.

The Insider

Various Carrickedmond supporters adamant they're not playing Saturday night.

Mostrim awaits.

Shamrock Shore

We won't play them if they won't play Slashers.

All going well this weekend, my predictions are as follows:

Killoe to beat Dromard.
If Dromard from the Slashers game show up, it might be tighter than expected.

Clonguish to beat Colmcille. Colmcille seem a bit of an unknown having been in Div2 this year. However, it's the same squad that won the championship just two years ago.

Mullinalaghta to beat Granard.
Granard just don't seem to have any momentum after a great league. They were very poor in the group and really were fortunate against Mostrim.

Abbey to beat Rathcline.
Rathcline have been well beaten in their last two matches whereas Abbey have been consistent without being spectacular. Abbey to grind out a win.

Carrickedmond appeal not upheld, but matches go ahead as scheduled.

Absolute f***ing messers, total clearout needed at top.

Sideliner

Wait, what?? Carrickedmond won their appeal??? So are Dromard now out??

LaurelEye

Quote from: Sideliner on September 14, 2024, 04:04:39 PMWait, what?? Carrickedmond won their appeal??? So are Dromard now out??

Carrickedmond won on the grounds that the chairman of the CCC (whom we will not name for obvious reasons) and anyone else on the CCC from clubs in the Senior Championship should have excluded themselves when an objection was raised. The other grounds of appeal were rejected. A fresh CCC meeting, with a newly-appointed committee, has been ordered but my understanding is that Longford are now appealing this decision to the CAC.

The basic facts of the case remain unaltered.

Another great day for the county.
