Means absolutely f**k all being number 1 in the world if you lose in the first knockout game in the world cup every time

Like Groundhog Day in this thread every time there's Ireland matches in Autumn and Summer.

And yes it's also like Groundhog Day come World Cup quarter final time before anyone says it.

I used to be on here one time going on about how these were meaningless friendlies. However I have to say I've changed my tune completely.  Far from meaningless, these games provide a massively accurate prediction on who will completely flop at the next world cup. I can see South Africa in big bother now.

:D

Captain Obvious

It was a match to see who was number one.  Ireland only the 2nd best priest now

Good oul 'friendly' win today

Capt Pat

It sure was. Last second drop goal from Frawley. Good to see signs like that from him. Maybe Sexton can be replaced at outhalf after all.

screenexile

Great victory with the obvious "only a friendly" caveat (even though both teams were full out).

Fair play to Ireland we hung in and did the business at the end. That young full back has been exceptional!!!

nrico2006

Why play two friendlies instead of 3?
'To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.'

I'd say because everyone's fucked! Long 12 months including the WC last September!

Wildweasel74

Good to see new players been blooded, need start looking more at the front and bck row over the nxt couple of years

Tony Baloney

Some balls from Frawley to take those on. Ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things apart from injecting a bit of belief into the Irish camp and of course lovely to be travelling home winning the last game.

Itchy

Just saw the winning drop goal, a fantastic strike. I think drop goals are one thing in rugby that actually requires a lot of skill unlike most other factors of the game. They should try and find ways to encourage more drop goals - maybe if scores are level team with most drop goals wins.

Capt Pat

Former Irish rugby international Brendan Mullin was due to go on trial for fraud on the 7th of May 2024. To the best of my knowledge this never happened. Did I miss something in the press about this? I can't find anything online about this. It is strange.
