Shouldn't, should just download music from your PC to theirs. As theirs is new it won't delete anything from their. I don't use that auto synch thing for just that reason, just in case.

I thought that only one iPod could be registered to iTunes per machine to stop illegal copies.

Not as far as I know, I've had multiple on my personal PC...then again those were two Shuffles and a Nano I've updated for othersm those it differentiate between different types of iPod? Or it's a recent restriction. There was some sort of restriction on downloading from iPod to PC but like I said I don't use autosynch, I have my iPod set as an external drive and use Sharepod. Music you purchased through iTunes can only be played on up to 5 authorised PCs but that's not the same.

Worst that will happen will be that it will freeze your PC and report you to the local peelers  :)

Ah I'll not worry too much about that MM as long as i don't loose anything on my itunes
or effect my own ipods syncing capabilities.

Back up your iTunes songs first on CD.

You should. Not because I think you're going to make a mess of it, but it's good practice. I copied my stuff over at the weekend and then deleted it off the PC. Speeded the computer up no end.

Was thinking of buying myself an i-pod, what would you's go for:

8GB I-pod Nano (the new small one) or
80GB I-pod classic?

I like the smallness of the nano but im undecided.

P.S how do you transfer videos, movies etc onto you i-pod?
