In all fairness rossies when i read about ye giving out about soft frees of connacht final last yr, i watch the softies ye got last sat and the fact the free count was 35 to 20 in yer favour, and i go back to 2010 when the ref let ye waste 5.30 mins on injures and only play 2.17, Which are facts i think fck sake ye have no right to whinge about refs.
Like i said no whinging just stating facts Collins can be played very easy. Last Sat we got more frees because you played a defensive game which will always bring more fouls as for the 2010 Connacht final you scored two points in 1st half injury time against the run of play & failed to even create a scoring chance in 2nd half injury time.

Dont know how you came to that conclusion based on what i said as only one side could be fuming, we were fuming at ourselves 100% but it was noted the ref favoured roscommon on both occasions and bar the opinionated stance of softies my example are backed up with fact.

I was speaking generally. But if you want to bash the Rossies answer to Comical Ali, be my guest.

Ah give the Craggy Islanders a break, they get a little antsy whenever the prospect of Kerry at HQ raises its head.  :'(

Jesus Christ lads. This is about the U-21 championship. Fair play to Roscommon, they won it. I haven't posted on this thread here in a while because of our loss to Roscommon. But this is all getting a bit tiresome from all involved to be honest. Rossies having a go at Mayos, Mayos having a go at Rossies, Sligos having a go at Rossies etc. I hope Ros go on and win the U-21 All-Ireland. And they could well have a decent year in the SFC too, Ros that is. And going on current trends, Mayo should be very, very weary in the future of them. I say this because they've won the Connacht Minor League for the second year in succession whereas we seem to be stumbling. And they've won 2 out of the last 3 under 21 Connacht titles. I hope Roscommon people don't see this as patronising to them because it isn't supposed to be. I'm just sick and tired of all the needless bickering that goes on. Connacht football is on the up again thankfully.

Ah, it's all handbags. I think everyone here will be supporting the Connacht champions, no matter who they are, at every grade.

I think most Mayo people have always been weary of listening to Rossies ;)

Unlike the Senior Championship, I'd be shouting for the Connacht Champions. With the back door in Senior, the Provincial Champions don't solely represent the province anymore.

Anyway best of Luck to the Rossies. A hight tide rises all boats!

But you'd be happy to see Connacht teams winning as long as they're not playing your county, right? I know my heart sank a little when Mayo lost to Longford, knowing full well that public discourse would return to 'ah sure Connacht teams are useless'.

There's a first reaction of 'oh haha, those Mayo jackasses, serves them right!!' and that's very quickly replaced by the realisation that more than any other province Connacht football is under attack and needs its standard bearers to perform to prove popular logic wrong. One of the most enjoyable games I've been at for years was last year's Mayo/Kerry semi, shouting for Mayo.
