Any word on the dates for the 1st round of the club championships?
Was looking for it on County website but couldn't see it

The county board are waiting until I book my holidays, then they are just going to play the championship that week I'm away. Same as every year. So I will let yous know when I book it.

Yeah your not the brightest spark in the class, do as Zap says, book for the 1st round of the Ulster c'ship then you won't have a problem ::)

This year I have to go to a wedding in Italy. The wedding is 16th June. Probably take the week out of it as cant afford to book another holiday as well as the Italy trip. So no doubt I will miss it.

I get about 6 hours a night. Usually pretty tired by a Friday but am always fit to train and have active lifestyle. So would say 6 hours would probably be normal.

Fair dues to Dublin - ye had us chasing shadows yesterday.  When was the last time Tyrone were in Division 2, some debate about that at the moment.  The most disappointing aspects of yesterday for me was yet another poor gameplan,  the demise of our defence, the performances of our midfield men who were cleaned out, and the sight at the start of the second half a visably injured Colm Cavanagh limping to full forward  - now either he was bluffing or the management hadnt noticed his limping out of the tunnel, or at half time.   I hate to read the commentry on Gormley - a Tyrone legend, but I felt he was hung out to dry on Brogan both by an inactive midfield and management.  Unfortunately Sean O Neill wasnt played from the start instead of Davy whom Dublin targeted,  Mickeys reasons are justifiable to a point but when relegation occurs he must now take responsibility also and account of what he could have done better.  Positive aspect for me was Peter Harte who will be the brightest spark in Tyrone football in a couple of years and Philip Jorday played well.  I felt sorry for Marty Penrose yesterday - just a bad day after a great campaign, I think hes probably a half forward anyway.   Ive no doubt we will beat Antrim as cuteness and experience will prevail there, but how far we can go is anyones guess.  In reality we should have lost every league game - and just how well this transition period goes is anyones guess - Its some test for Harte and hes had mixed results to date but Im sure things will improve for him.  Id say expectation levels going into the championship is not a bad thing, but have they been this low in 10 years?

I can't see MH going man for man again in the Championship as I think Gormley & McMenamin could be exposed for pace in Croke park if they did.

Whats the latest on SON?

Both SON and Dooher played for Clann's at the weekend. They were defeated by Aghaloo.

There just doesnt seem to be the numbers within our club and the main problem is enthuaism amongst the young players. They seem to be more interested in Rugby or even just sitting at home playing the X Box.

Even our minor team none of them come out to seniors or reserves, whenever we were that age you couldnt hold us back from playing football.

Where are you situated?

GAA Discussion / Jumpers for goalposts
April 07, 2010, 10:43:23 PM
Gone are the days of jumpers for goalposts.

Currently within my local club we are having a hard time getting the youth to part take in gaelic games.
Seems that so many modern day distractions have ment that GAA has taken a back seat in the minds of our youth.
I am managing out under 14 team and to be honest it seems lik Gaelic football is more of a chore to some of them than something they actually enjoy. We have guest coaches and fun sessions to keep the level of enjoyment high together with a lot of serious sessions learning the skills.
Back when I was this age we weree home from school, threw the bag in house and out kicking ball. All our under14s talk about is playing the X Box or PS. Also games like soccer and now rugby, which has runied many of our minor players by slowing the down, have over taken gaelic football as their key sport.
Sad times. We lost a number of minor players to rugby for first league game and struggled to field a team. In truth our club will struggle to field witin next ten years!

What players racked up the highest individual scores of the first round. Think in Division 2 Peter Hughes of Eskra got 1-8.

There was a guy for Clogher who got most of their scores. I think he would've got 6 or 7 points out of their 1-8. I think he may have been called Marks Shiels or something.

His name is Ciaran Shiels and he scored 0-4 against ER O'Neills. Mark Bogue at wing forward scored 0-2. Damian Connolly got the goal think one of the midfielders scored a point.

Peter Hughes still winning  :D

Could be onto something there nrico.

Class episode last week with Richard, first back story in a while. Better than all these shitty, confusing sideways stories.

How many more episodes after this week's?

A lot of people seem to b predictng this sort of ending on the online LOST forum's.

Has anyone ever hd a lost moment? I you don't know what I mean here's mine:

I got  jjob in a firm. I was in an office with one woman. This job was a good 40 miles away so I never knew anyone who worked in it. Anyway we got talking one day and i turned outthat I used to do the books for the boss of her husband. And she phoned into the accountants that I worked at in order to get copy payslips for her husband and was talking me sh was talking to and done the work for them. Weird.

Also I have only ever been on one Celtic match in my life and so has my current boss and guess what....... IT WAS THE SAME GAME.
