Genuinely don't understand the fintona glaze. Their in the top 10 teams in Tyrone membership wise, have been lingering in around junior for the past 15+ years bar a short lived stint in intermediate in 2024. That's a seriously impressive level of underachievement

Had a look there and their Junior championship title in 2023 was the first trophy their seniors had won since 1978. There's no doubt they have a lot of potential after winning the G1 Minor league last year and now promotion back to Intermediate but a concern for them going forward in this campaign is that Colton has been well held now by both Urney and Drumragh.

I see how Fintona play as a rob Peter to pay Paul scenario (Pardon the pun). Paul being Mcgillion and the payment being 1 goal and 6 points.

It's hard to see, look at the turnover of players for stewartstown in last 3-4 years, the quality of the players lost since their junior all Ireland run hasn't been replaced. Fintona seem good, but it's hard to judge them until they come up against a strong junior team in the provincial series as Junior in Tyrone this year is overall very poor.

Is there a chance junior has just looked worse than previous years because fintona is so much further ahead?

No doubt Fintona are well ahead of the other teams. Glenelly finished 2nd in the league and will most likely piggy back up off a Fintona win. Their results in intermediate next year will more or less confirm the quality of the chasing pack. I would suspect they will get 15 tankings, and be back down to 3.

Glenelly will be eyeing up the likes of Kildress, but other than that, I'd say they lose every game, max two points, and straight back down again. Stewartstown would have given Division 2 a better go, but they couldn't get the job done on that fateful evening in Plumbridge.

2026 has the potential for the first div 3 div 2 double. Although, I think Pomeroy might have something to say about that.

From what I saw from the stands, Fintona will win the Junior Championship at a canter. I had a flicker of hope when I saw Hegarty wasn't on Murphy, but that hope was short-lived. We were probably Fintona's biggest threat, and they still played us off the pitch.

That said, we had a few strange calls from management, starting men who hadn't kicked a ball all year, and strangest of all, the manager put himself on the bench. That felt like a real middle finger to the lads who put the shoulder to the wheel all year.

Drumragh v Fintona - Man for man it's even out the field. This will come down to the full-forward and full-back pairings, and our full-forwards have too much. Mullin will get all the attention, leaving Murphy to do the damage. Hegarty had him well marshalled in the league, but he's only got cameo roles since so we might escape that matchup. Drumragh by a point or two.


Stewartstown v Errigal 3rd's - Stewartstown with another emphatic victory against another Division 3A side

Derrytresk v Castlederg - The Derg will pip the loughshore men on sunday and hit the beer until Wednesday


Tattyreagh v Brocagh - Nothing to see here, the Tats by 8+
