What way does relegation work this year then? Was it last year they had that mini league because one of the 4 bottom teams was already relegated?

is the intermediate championship group stage then straight to semi finals, have seen in a number of previews that q finals are being predicted, but there haven't been q finals for the last few years

Intermediate kicking off this weekend and saw on Hoganstand Owen Gallagher has left back for Galway. Im sure that put a big enough dent in Glenavys hopes. Hard to see past Endas based on league form but does a second team go up if they win both?

I'm sure they'll wait till to see how the championship groups turn out before choosing who gets to stay up in both.

If St Endas are running riot in div 2, what happens if they do the double? Didn't this happen a few years ago where one team won both and only one team went up to div 1?

The loss of key players have killed us for the past 3 years. Getting more players back and getting a few younger lads in has been off huge benefit

I think we are of a higher standard than Division 2. We are playing some great football this year. I hope we can win the championship this year but you know yourselves, championships don't always work out as planned.

Wouldn't get ahead of yourself division 2 is division 3 in old money.

Div 1 = 16
Div 2 = 10
Div 3 = 8

So if you're top of div 2, you're just in the top half of clubs in Antrim

Having a look at div2. Endas looking a decent bet for champo going off league form. Any other team be there or thereabouts for that?

They're not straying far from their nests based on their wee update bulletins. Having said that, can't imagine there will be a large Wicklow contingent up at the weekend now

Acknowledging the difference in playing standards (club and county), where do you start after that today?

Tactically: slow and ponderous allowing them to get back, set up and then force a turnover on the half.

Athletically: Obviously big gulf, but we looked slow and heavy legged. Even some of the more direct/speedier players looked a bit ragged.

Kickouts: At county level all we can work us an overload? That's a shambles. Other way we couldn't even get near theirs.

Derry were poor by their own abilities today, I don't think they gave away a scorable free all game and they easily could have had 3 extra goals in the first half alone. We had some individual bright sparks but it was hard to do that over and over again.

Can never fault lads togging out for their county, but there's failures at some level there because compared to last years run out against Armagh this is a backwards step

Nearly sure Cargin have an O Cahan cup game at home at 2pm Sunday as well,could be wrong,typical Antrim running games at the same time the County seniors are playing,I know its a south west competition,but how are people going to see both if they wanted

Kids of 15 to 18 are loaded with exams pre summer holidays. Its a season long problem at that age group. Same with holidays and parents booking, its a lot of the time a case of parents not allowing a child to train or play because of exams. When i was young this wasnt an issue. Education comes first with the vast majority now

I blame the populist cap on student fee's in NI ( and cost of accommodation elsewhere)

Cap on fee's, means a cap on places and with over subscription (as students try and stay close to home to save money) grades needed to get in to UU or QUB
go up so kids focus on exams.

If your u16/u18 are finding it tough it's the fault of the NI exec taking short term approach to higher education funding.

Oh please won't the NI exec take focus on getting the underage gaels togged out for their league matches by giving them another £12k worth of debt.
