Quote from: nrico2006 on July 04, 2026, 05:13:19 PMThe Agency season 2 definitely a level up from season 1.
Aye looks like season 1 was purely laying ground. Season 2 is very good so far - 6 episodes in.

The 2nd series was absolutely a lift on a very good 1st series. Fassbender is brilliant and the end of it is unreal. Series 3 well set up!!!

Haven't bothered with it so far. I've watched the French original. Assuming it's just the exact same story line.
Me having rated the French original as high as the sky I wasn't in a hurry to watch the US version. Regardless actors matter and in this one Fassbender is outstanding, he's the centre of every episode, magnetic. Richard Gere, smooth as teflon, unflappable. It is its own show, and can be enjoyed as that. I don't feel that there's any need to compare it to the original.
But if I was to compare :)  it's not in the same league as the French one. The amount of time something is explained out loud to a presumed dumber audience is frustrating, nuance is oft times absent without just cause.
And pound for pound re the character acting, only Fassbender who masterly carries the burden of his contradictions would be left standing.

There is no chance of Celtic even dipping into the 70m +30m funds that are already banked, in order to purchase new players. There is also no danger of them even spending more than the money that will earned on the transfers. What most folk want is that they sign the players they need in good time before the CL play off game.

But some people keep repeating the refrain of the perils of going into debt when there is 'dangerous' 'reckless' talk  of spending all the money that will be earned on transfers on buying much needed replacement players.

GAA Discussion / Re: UTV & BBC & RTE & TV3

Why don't BBC 2 just use the RTE coverage for the hurling final, it's organic GAA - without the cringe factor and Marty was born for commentating on Munster and AI finals. Niblock just doesn't have the voice or the wherewithal. Let the BBC2 NI GAA team be regionally restricted.

The ceo etc are not gangsters, they're low grade total spoofers, shite at their job, spread barefaced lies about Kelechi's salary and Saracchi's so called demands and then are so childishly naive to think their lies wouldn't be exposed.

GAA Discussion / Re: Up For The Match

Quote from: From the Bunker on July 27, 2025, 02:16:34 PMUp for the Match is the same as The 2 Johnnies type of entertainment.

It's based on stereotypes, County Jerseys and low level banter.

Now there is an idea - The 2 Johnnies could do the show......

Corny meets corny? that could work. The 2 Johnnies revel in that environment and could carry it off.

Watching it frame by frame the Dubs were denied a goal, but in real time I wouldn't have the foggiest notion. Without an eagle eye umpire (doesn't exist anyway) you can't be certain it was a goal, to get that decision right one would need to use video technology or something.

I am not sold on the penalty, not arguing against the ref who was perfectly positioned and applied the law, I'd just say that type of contact in a cluttered area around the goal shouldn't be a penalty, that it was bought by a rampaging forward trying to make inroads in a cluttered box, he's bound to run into somebody. If that was team Handball it would be more likely to be adjudged as barging into an opponent, you can sorta see the Kerry player turning his shoulder toward Byrne just before the contact. But I haven't watched it frame by frame measuring the momentum of both players :o

Overall I think I would have much preferred to watch a ding dong Dublin Kerry semi final played under the old rules.

Quote from: Main Street on July 11, 2026, 07:47:34 PMI had felt sore that Monaghan couldn't beat Louth, now I think they might well have saved us from receiving an absolute tanking from that Mayo team.

Monaghan couldn't play Mayo in the semis, would have been one of the 2 teams tomorrow
When speaking hypothetically, one can be flexible with creating actualities.

The French did retaliate many times with their blatant diving and faking injury. Mbappe and the ruler slap trauma :D

I wonder what that says about the Scottish refs when this lad was deemed up to standard but the Scots not?

By now I have little toleration for ITV or BBC commentary + most of their pundits, unfortunately there's no safe haven in RTE, apart from when Darragh is on commentary and Didi is in amongst the studio dross. The rest are  the B & C team, even for LOI games that lot are unlistenable. I happened across a Canadian TSN stream for Egypt v Aus and lo and behold normalcy returns with  Martin Tyler (he lives!) and old sidekick Andy Townsend. I checked out the TSN commentators' schedule and came across comments, apparantly Martin is regarded as too boring for those Canadian soccer aficionados who infect social media, give me boring Martin anyday.
