Was the sound on the NY Leitrim game out of sync with the video?

Nice team. Some fine prospects there.
From 2019 and 2020 Leinster finalists, we got 5 good senior players - Barry, O'Flynn, Mohan, Lacey and Larkin. Would be great to get 3/4 off this bunch. I really like Colin Dunne, Fitzpatrick and Fingleton.

It's not Billy's fault, it's not the county board's fault, it's not anyone's fault in particular but until we get the best 15 footballers playing for the county, we're at nothing.
There's lads in there at the moment and fair play to them for committing but some of them are simply not up to it.

I believe these are the 15 best footballers playing for Laois at the moment . What lads not on the panel would make things better ?

In fairness last night was coming . Anyone at the Sligo, Wexford and Carlow matches would probably say the same thing .
In fairness good to see the likes of Larkin get more exposure . Our lack of depth is evident but this entirely what we have to work with at the moment.
Waterford probably the worst team in the country at the moment . Two difficult away trips then to London and Leitrim who handed Carlow a right trimming today will determine promotion.
Look, they are amateur lads. It's certainly not fair to start naming lads who aren't up to it but anyone at all could name at least 5 or 6 lads who would hugely improve the current squad. But again, until there's a structure in place that every footballer in the county wants to play for the county, we are pissing against the wind.

Did I see Laois played Offaly in a second year combined school's match today?
Yup. Laois won handy. Something like 5-15 to 1-12.

Good to keep winning and to be honest we are a Division 4 team and if we can get promoted, we'll probably struggle in Division 3 next year.
Kingston, Barry and O'Carroll are good scorers. We could do with one or two more. Colm Murphy hopefully will be one later in the league. I like Corbet but I'm not sure he's up to this level as an outfield player. Lillis and Finn are honest and solid but lack real pace which may be an issue on livelier pitches.

Minors have a game? What are they like?
Beat Wicklow comfortably. Playing Armagh next week. No idea what they're like as I haven't seen them yet.

Any word on what they are like SCFC?
No idea but one of the better lads eligible from last year, Emerson, is not involved which is a pity.

Has the minor panel been finalised yet?
I believe it has. They had to.make one or two changes to what they had originally chosen.

Most of those have had a go.
Have they? I don't remember any of them on a Laois senior squad except possibly Tyrrell. And you're right, if they've been asked and turned it down, no loss. But I don't know if that's the case.
Anyway, we have who we have. No point speculating now with the league 3 weeks away

if there wasn't new players coming in , there would be several posts bemoaning the management sticking with tried and tired players.
The O'Byrne Cup has always been used to look at new players.
I'm just a bit concerned that there are lads in on the panel who aren't as good as others out there who aren't involved.
I'm particularly thinking of Davin McEvoy and Sean Fitzpatrick of Ballyroan Abbey. I'd also like to see Saunders, Tyrrell, a chap from Joseph's whose name is gone on me and the 2 Dunnes, Eoin and Niall off the under 20 squad a few years back getting a chance. Not to mention 2 or 3 more Port lads.
Maybe they've all been asked and said no but it's a pity to lose them.

That was very sobering last night. Would remind you of the first game last year down in Wexford. Both games were over at half time. Both games had a load of reasonably decent but average enough club players making their debuts. At the end of the day, when we play Sligo in the first league game at the end of the month, we are likely to be looking at Trevor Collins, Eoin Lowry, Paddy O'Sullivan, Paul Kingston, Mark Barry, James Finn, Evan O'Carroll and Brian Byrne all starting. Possibly Piggott and Lillis too.

Goalkeeper position is a concern too. 3 of the last 4 starting senior goalies for Laois are not avavilable (Brody, Bolger and Byron) and the fourth, Corbett, is playing outfield.

Any idea what kind of a line up we can expect Wednesday?
It would be pure guesswork to try predict that team.
Scott Osborne in goals might be something to see. Maybe the return of Piggott and Murphy. And a few new outfield lads in the squad might get a run like Sean O'Neill, Patrick Kirwan and Damon Larkin.
