Did Tiernan play in the Sigerson Cup final or was that his brother?
Brother, he's a pharmacist

Works in Dublin too. God love him for the next few weeks...

I like the mark. Didnt think it would work at first but it has certainly speeded up the game from long kickouts. Within a few seconds you can move the ball from goalkeeper to forward line.

How did the boycott of the concession stands go?

Hopefully the dubs followed through and made a statement for the bureaucrats

The queue was bad enough in lower cusack. I saw plenty of Dubs on the pints.

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone County Football and Hurling

Mickey Harte is the reason.

Agreed. Also Peter Donnelly is an excellent coach by all reports. And look at fhe fundraising initiatives like club tyrone, a few thousand tyrone gaels in it give £500 a year to help develop Garvaghey.
Summer camps for children are another big thing. All summer every club pitch in the county is full of children learning how to play the game. That coupled with visits from tyrone players generates the interest that lasts a lifetime.

Agree on cyclists. Always remember, they are better than us pollution spewing car drivers and you should ALWAYS give them right of way regardless of situation. A cyclist scrapes your car whilst overtaking you in traffic? Smile and wave!  ;D
Are 4 of them riding abreast on a busy road? Well sir, just you stay back and toodle along behind them at 10mph round blind corners, to hell with cars coming behind you!
With regards other cars beeping at you, honestly the best response is to beep back, laugh and wave at them. Its the thing that will annoy them most. People behave in cars in a way they would never behave in public.

Thr quote doesn't make sense considering tyrone have went long for the most part this year.

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone County Football and Hurling
August 10, 2017, 10:48:02 AM
The excuses coming from other counties are laughable. Sick of hearing the population argument. Take Antrim, even if only 1/3 of Antrim is nationalist they would still have far far more than the pool Tyrone have to pull from. County Derry has 80k more people than Tyrone and a massive gaelic culture and club scene. Why cant these counties compete with Tyrone?

It would improve the forum if the mods could delete this nonsense thread.

Or if rational Gaels just ignored ?

There is no rationality in this drivel.

I think one could argue that bad refereeing got them to two in a row

"Never argue with an idiot. Theyll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

There were online queues for tickets for the Armagh game when they first went on sale  as well.

A guy was tellng me he sat for an hour before he gave up......More fool him

There were loads of tickets available online  on the Thursday and Friday lesding up  to the game and not bad ones either. I ll be picking mine up online on The Friday before the game and i ll not be sitting in any queue!!!

Good luck with that.

For the love of all that is holy change the thread name to something else.

+1

Got my ticket.

Good man. Dubs going mad about losing out this morning amid the fiasco over when they were actually going on sale. Caught on the hop by eager Tyronies

Just watched today's SG or is it MG and laughed at the end at Brolly and ORourke standing up for the teams that cant make it to the Super Eights each year.
Yes that's right, EVERY single team including NY and London all have an equal chance of making it to the last eight, where they THEN become The Super Eight. The top eight teams in the championship.
But No. Derry and Meath can't get that far in recent years because teams like Armagh, Tipperary, Clare, Galway, Monaghan, Donegal are ELITE and get more money or GAA support than they do.
Anyway. What was more funny was Lyster finally let Spillane speak who strangely I found myself agreeing with and at the end of his point he squeezed Brollys knee who looked at him as of to say F##k off ya Kerry c%%t whilst wearing his funeral shirt and tie.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was watching the end of the Sky coverage of Tyrone game. Not sure who commentator was but he said its the first time Tyrone have got to the semi final without the back door or words to that affect.
I've been drinking some lovely French wine whilst on holiday so thought I'd better listen again and yes that's what he said.

Yes TSG make some balls up but to come out with that line is unreal.

I noticed that too. Said theyve never won the all ireland through the front door. Was a boo boo on their part.

What's the difference in Tyrone and Derry? Or in mayo and Galway? Where's the inherent advantage that tyrone and mayo have over their neighbours? There is none. Instead they relied on good coaching, good promotion in schools and good crowd funding (eg. Club tyrone). I can understand low population counties such as leitrim etc not being able to compete for all Ireland's but there's no excuse for the likes of Cork, Galway, Derry, Meath etc.
