I just don't understand why the management team want to play the game in Newbridge
1. They haven't won there for a year
2. I was at the Kildare Mayo league match and it was pretty full. If Mayo use their full complement of season tickets then there is no point even looking for a ticket because they'll be like Hen's teeth
3. Kildare's only chance of winning this game is by running the legs off an ageing Mayo team but instead they want to play it in a smaller pitch than Croke. I would have said Yes to croke park but we want to play the game at 3 in the heat of the day. An evening match will suit Mayo even more.

Really? He was a goner after the Carlow result but now O'Neill can't get the road if he goes down in a blaze of glory or fighting the good fight.

In that case it's just a benefit to himself and not his team but I suppose most manager's are like that

I'd say the solution will be change the Sunday double header to Thursday Night in Omagh 7pm and 8.30pm

Change Owen Roes and Fintona to Saturday.

Simples
Fintona have a golf function on Saturday that they're running in conjuction with the Michaela Foundation

Had a great bit of food at the carvery at the hill end of the lower cusack - even with a full house it wasn't too busy. I think most people don't know it's there.

My brother used Hola in Italy on his tablet and it worked fine. I'm assuming that it should be ok for France as well

Things we did before Tyrone, first; won a senior national league, second; won an All Ireland senior title through the front door, third; in Tyrones first back door game ever, we beat you in Clones, precious!!

We set the standards you aspired too.
Well the standards have dropped. When it comes to Ulster titles you are the second worst county in Ulster

Head red as a berry today but well worth it after watching a masterclass by Mickey.

Atmosphere wasnt great but think that was because it was so one sided after first 10/15mins.

We are not clinical enough when going for goals. If there is a man over then he should get it. End of story. Fix this and we will be in CP in Sep.

Say it quietly but Murphy could be finished.
Was thinking that myself - After about 25 mins in the first half he was hardly fit to move. He can't play as an up and down the pitch midfielder. He needs to be playing from the halfway line up

A few years ago I was working in Devon and was staying in a pub in Dartmoor. I came into the pub after work and there was about 20 gentlemen sitting in the pub with their hunting gear on. Hats and socks with feathers in them. They all sounded very posh. After they left I asked the barman about them and he said that they all come down from London for the pheasant/grouse. Every bird that was shot cost them 200 quid and that they had shot 140 birds that day.

I would say that he was quoted in order to suit Fergal Keane's agenda. The man did say that some people get worked up about the border but Fergal didn't go and ask them.

If Carton House is good enough for Real Madrid then it should be good enough for Tyrone no matter who owns it.

Then a suppose if Tyrone end up playing like Real Madrid it will be all worth it?
If they ended up as attack focused as Real Madrid then definitely but i wouldn't have high hopes

The difference in winning and losing that match on Sunday was a freetaker. Mayo have one who is consistent. We do not. We know that we've had this problem for more then 3 years but it still had not been rectified. Christ we went back to Morgan hitting the 50s again. Given the system we're playing we should be able to carry a player whose main reason to be on the field is for the frees. We had it in 80s with Micky Mallon. I'm really starting to lose my patience with Micky Harte. Another perfect example is Mattie Donnelly. He plays him in full forward in three night matches where the wind is blowing a gale and it's pissing down. The first day when it's like summer conditions with a good pitch he's back out in the middle. It makes absolutely no sense

General discussion / Re: Buying a house
March 14, 2017, 08:37:38 AM
Folks,
I just moved to Newbridge, Co. Kildare from Manchester last year. I'm an I.T. contractor and I'm currently working on a UK contract through my UK company. I've had a UK limited company for 20 years. I'd like to buy a house in Newbridge but the 2 mortgage brokers I've went to in kildare are telling me that the banks will  not take into account my UK earnings. Since I'm earning only sterling this leaves me in limbo. I'm only looking for a 50% mortgage at about 1.5 times earnings. I'm assuming that living in the south and earning sterling would be common enough around the border areas. Has anybody recently been able to get a euro mortgage while working in the UK?

Buddy Holly's guitarist, Tommy Allsup, 85.

He was the one that lost the infamous coin toss to determine who would get a seat on the plane that ended up crashing and killing Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper, in 1959.
Very nice man - met him when he was touring with Kevin Montgomery in Manchester. He also spend a lot of time playing with the Bob Wills band. Waylon Jennings was also meant to be on that plane but he swapped with the Big Bopper.
