Why would they not have been favoured?
They won the minor championship and league at the same age group and so many of them have senior experience.
I would have been disappointed had we not won it.

Very strange indeed. I read on Derry board that Magherafelt had to pull out of the U21's due to Ulster and according to my source this happened Slaughtneil for a few years as well. Can't understand how a competition started before the senior leagues started has not been finished long before now. Galbally should do the honourable thing and either pull out or put in a team to fulfil the fixture. They have a strong panel and arguably could win their semi final without their so called main men. Their reserves won the league as well so plenty of players available

To say they will win the U21s without their main players is ridiculous. They have invested a lot of time into their players and are entitled to ask for a competition to be held up when they represent Tyrone from Ulster. This is coming from a Carrickmore supporter and we sit waiting patiently on the min the semi final waiting to roll over with or without their main players.

In fairness to Mooney he would not have selected the headline. However his style is lazy. In a write up previous to Carrickmore's championship game versus Derrylaughin he has our main players as Johnny Munroe and Daniel Fullerton. Anyone involved in Tyrone football circles knows Johnny is in Australia and Fulleron was U16 last year!

Carrickmore are definitely paying Ryan Daly. He left his job with Tyrone to go and manage their Senior team and youth structure.

This is absolutely incorrect. He left Tyrone due to the fact that he was on a bad salary. He had a plan to do private coaching sessions, which he is doing in schools throughout Tyrone. I would really doubt if the club is paying him as their last four managers have been internal and it seems to be the the way of those at the top currently that we have enough inside without going out. As far as I am aware he isnt involved directly with any of the underage set ups either. There is enough time involved managing a senior team. We do have a strength and conditioning person who is in one night a week.

I forgot about him. That turned out well didnt it. It was probably the reason they decided to go back internal!
Enda Gormley???

Edendork played all the football, after going 6 down the 6 points without reply was probably the best 10 minute spell a team has ever had. Just didn't have it in them (experience) to hold out the game. Even when Carmen got the second goal it didn't seem like they were going to win. Edendorks whole back line is suspect except Conor Mallon.

Also, timer wasn't working on the score board (which is a complete joke for a county ground) but I timed it, Ref announced 4 added minutes on 30:35 and Carrickmore equalized on the 31st. The Carrickmore free to win it was awarded on 32:20 and was actually kicked at 33:10 and the ref blew full time straight after the free at 33:40. One more attack should've been granted to Edendork.

Long story short, McHughs a **** and gave Edendork nothing all night.
This made me laugh very loud.
How did Edendork play all the football? And talking of referees were you at last Friday nights drawn game were a ref gave Edendork a chance to even be playing last night?

Errigal will make short work of Carmen, bad outfit overall.

Won't be much standing room round killyclogher though... By half time in the first game be some crowd in id say. Thought at this stage championship would be taking preference to league games??

Last time i was in killyclogher they had the stand extended, no cover though. Would imagine it will be packed yes, would have thought carmen would have been the better option but sure the county board know best...

All teams still in the championship will be likely to field weaker teams this weekend and some teams that are safe may also field some weaker teams to give a few fringe/reserve players senior game time, so there might be some 'shock' results coming up

I heard various reports that we could be hosting a senior double header in 2 weeks.. For the atmosphere it would be ideal and i'm sure everyone would agree. The only problem is with our current training pitch under re development which was previously used to handle a couple of hundred cars, the crowd control and parking could be an issue as people will not want to walk a mile or 2 down the road.
[/quot

I really don't see parking as an issue here. There are a number of options available within a half a mile from the ground. If the weather was dry which it supposed to be is the actual training field might be an option.

That is a little harsh Healy. Killyclogher has the same roadside parking as every other club in Tyrone, a main road outside their ground.

Carmen had been playing well of late but I actually thought we were not good yesterday. We got sucked into too many rows and took the bait from their sideline every time. But it certainly is encouraging if we can get everyone fit.

This is the problem as far as I can see. Some idiot in the crowd who goes to 3 matches a year shouts at a referee and the referee then makes 30 lads and management suffer by wasting a whole years training on 1 decision, perhaps evening meaning a manager is asked to step down.
Generally the standard of refereeing is ok but there are two referees who i know when i see them coming to Carrickmore I know we will have a tough afternoon, and this just isn't right.

Obviously I can only speak for Carrickmore but I would be disappointed not to have won that game yesterday. We led up until the 58th minute and Ardboe scored the winner in injury time. A more direct approach is being coached for the first time since Wee Barney left and I think we will be just fine. Defeats to Errigal and Ardboe isn't a crisis by any means. The club would or at least should know that the process to get back to the top table will take time. 9 lads at 21 or under participated in the senior game yesterday.

Peter Harte hit a hat trick so I doubt anyone on the day could have been much better than that  :-\

Canavan was better, a lot better infact. Harte scored 2 penalties and a tap in goal that Canavan created, although Harte had not got a bad game either.

The Lough have no wins over us at senior level. We won the minor championship 3 years ago and have won the past 2 Under 16 County titles but that may count for very little. Our underage is stronger across the board than it ever has been in the past five years. Would i be right in saying that the vast majority of Loughmacrorys young players at senior level were playing on a minor side that got beat by Carmen in a couple of great league games that year?

May count for very little as those minors are 21 now so if they can't do it now they never will.  If my memory is correct we won a minor championship in 2006 and by 2010 8/9 played and won the senior championship that year.
I think we had 7 of the minor team who won that played against Errigal in the championship this year so it is a fairly high turnover. The problem is we completely are missing a middle age. The older lads who are still doing well but we have virtually no mid to late 20s who are doing anything consistent, compared t oother senior teams who have the likes of Petey Harte, Stephen McNallys, Ronan O'Neills etc. Anyone wh ois any good is either retired because of injuries
