Any word from Pomeroy?

Finished 12-9. Atrocious weather. Errigal finished with 14.

Will be a late final whenever it is. These playoffs are well past their sell by date IMO.

Congrats to Clonoe. Better team over the two games. Carmen were living off scraps for large periods, didn't take their chances and still almost stole it towards the end of full time. But we never led once over the two games and the Rahilly's forwards were that bit more clinical. Disappointed, soaked through to my underpants, but that's the championship for ye...

The extra-time threw up a bit of a curiosity. One team finished full-time with 14 players, having a player sent off but go back to 15 for ET for a 'new' game. Player from other team sent off early in 1st half ET after picking up a 2nd yellow with 1st carried over from normal time. Not complaining here about the game today, just curious the thinking behind the rule.

Doesn't seem to make sense that the red card doesn't carry over into extra time, but the yellows do. If they reinstate teams to 15 players for ET, should they not wipe the slate clean altogether?

I've a strong feeling that all the east Tyrone teams are going to do the business this weekend in the Senior Championship.  Coalisland will miss Donnelly but with the American contingent back I expect them to account for Omagh who rely heavily on Ronan O'Neill.  He is a cracking player but cannot be expected to do it all on his own.  Was disappointed with the McMahons the last day out and expect a much better game overall with lots more scores.

Really looking forward to the double-header in Edendork.  Normally the team that loses the lead is said to have missed the boat but I can see Ardboe and Clonoe sneaking through.  Dromore aren't the team they once were (albeit still good) and I don't think they have replaced the likes of Collins, Garry and Snowy O'Neill.  Ardboe are building nicely and I was glad to see Coney show his potential last day out with some cracking scores.  The hunger of Ardboe to carry them through.

Have to say I expected more from Clonoe in the drawn game.  Loads of possession but they appear to miss a Ronan O'Neill, McCusker, McNeice or a Coney in attack who will kick 5/6 points consistently.  They appear solid everywhere else and will still be hard to beat.  Lavery or McAliskey may just step up to the plate this week against a Carrickmore team that requires a massive game from Donnelly.

Here's to a cracking weekend of football.

Here here agree completely with what u think lets hope we can have 4 eastern teams in the semis

Personally I'm hoping for four good games this weekend and three more good teams in the senior semis. Couldn't care less what part of the county they hail from... Just as long as Carmen's one of them. ;)

Can't see Coalisland letting Ronan O'Neill run riot again. Will be very interested to see how Omagh handle themselves in Pomeroy. Dromore might just shade it, but Carmen v Clonoe is anybodies.
Hope C'more have learned from the last day and that a few of the key players have shaken off their injuries. Tyrone championship abu!

fianna deserved the draw showed good determination to get it Omagh missed the boat i think but good enough for them the crying c***ts

Coalisland can consider themselves very lucky to get a (IMO) soft free at the death to get the draw, which Eamon McHugh brought forward. Omagh played the better football for the most part, with a patient build up and good supply of ball.

Ronan O'Neill gave Mackers an awful time of it until they put Bayne onto him and moved McNally up the field in the second, which helped the Fianna fight their way back into it.
Clarke, Grugan, McCarron and Dean O'Neill played well for Omagh, the McMahons didn't have much of an impact.

To give Coalisland their due they battled back into it, but this was a game Omagh left behind. They failed to close out from a two point lead towards the hour mark.

Moment of the day in Dunmoyle had to be Adrian Scullion's equalising point at the death for Eskra against the Lough from about 60 metres, which lit up a torrid game. Loughmacrory doing a good impression of Donegal in getting men behind the ball.

Strange one, from where I was standing behind the goalposts McCullagh's strike looked like it had went over the top of the post and hence wide, but on the video on the County Board website it's a clear point!  ???

Thankfully there wasn't extra time, the way that game was going I'd probably still be in Omagh right now! Certainly not a classic game. Three sendings off and twelve other yellow cards would suggest a dirty game, but it wasn't that so much rather there was a fair bit of niggly stuff going on. The final whistle went after the final score, Brian McGuigan was going apeshit at one of the umpires. Thought he was going to burst a blood vessel. On tonights form I can't see either team being strongly fancied for the O'Neill cup.

No date and venue announced yet for the replay. Next weekend obviously Sunday is out with the All-Ireland final, Friday night is a double header in Omagh with Carrickmore/Clonoe while Saturday afternoon in Coalisland has Galbally/Rock and Moortown/Derrylaughan. Saturday evening is a possibility but would need a floodlight venue - surely they wouldn't take Ardboe to Omagh again considering the distance? The only other venue I can think of available would be Greencastle.

There was a good 3-4,000 there tonight and you could expect as many again with a Saturday night game. Don't think Greencastle could cope with the volume, especially traffic. Won't be surprised if it's Omagh again.

Dromore 0-10 Ardboe 0-10
Full time
McCullagh scores from free. TBH I thought it was wide and so did the Bo wans

Looked over from the terrace. Looks like it in this video as well: http://www.jeromequinnmedia.com/video/Tyrone-Clubs/Dromore/Cool-Collie-in-Late-Late-Show-in-Power-NI-Tyrone-SFC---Dromore-v-Ardboe-668

Ardboe were very impressive when they ran at Dromore in first half, but Dromore began to close them down. Ricey and McCarron played very well, with McCusker and McCullagh running the show up front along with Conor O'Neill. St Dympna's hit A LOT of wides though.
The McGuigans and especially Coney played well for Ardboe, with Frank and Kyle taking some savage points.

Cathal O'Hagan played a big part in the game. Felt Dromore had to work a bit harder to win their frees, but to be fair was a hard game to ref. There were too many ticks and cards for very little early on, with the result that O'Hagan was maybe more reluctant to issues cards for more cynical fouling late on, even though Ardboe finished with 13 and Dromore 14.

In my own opinion, the way Ardboe finished the game, cynically trying to run down the clock, lying on players and bad fouling, they didn't deserve their win. The replay will be interesting though. Next Saturday night under lights?

Dromore and Ardboe is tie of the round. Ricey on McGuigan and Fabian O'Neill on Frank McGuigan. I think Dromore after extra time.  They are stonger and fitter than last year and have a point to prove. Mark my words Plunkett Kane and Liam Wylie will line out against Omagh and expect Philly Toner and Niall Kerr to appear in the 2nd half. The lads are home Wednesday after the North American Final in San Franciso is tonight. OHagan has been sickening them with phonecalls. Expect a big game from Peter Donnelly on Conan Grugan.
Jurys still out on Clonoe and Carmen. Dont know what to expect. Heard Gormley is injured and if he is its Clonoes day.
Moortown to blow Derrylaughan off the park and shock Omagh in the semis.  :P

Gormley wasn't risked after taking a knock in training, but he'll be fit for Clonoe. Rahilly's are not to be underestimated, but once Errigal ran at them yesterday they only managed one point in the second half (along with a late penalty). While Dromore v Ardboe will be interesting no doubt, the Carmen and Clonoe game is undoubtedly the tie of the round IMO, the two in form teams in Tyrone.
St Colmcilles won at home on the opening day of the season, but Clonoe are on a powerful streak. Though I think Carrickmore are better organised this year and will still shade it under the lights in Omagh, with their strong defence and knack of bagging goals. Omagh have yet to prove themselves when the chips are down and I fancy the Fianna to frustrate them another year.

Some great games in store! Looking forward to them.

They've got a virtual bye to the Semis now that the game against us is set to be played at Healy Park under Floodlights. No doubt a few Brown Envelopes being sent to the Tyrone Board, I guess.

btw, Is it true that the Tyrone Champions meet the Derry Champions in the Ulster Club 1st Round? Hoping, more now than ever, that Ballinderry win the Derry Championship if Dromore beat us in the QFs.

Yeah certainly a favourable venue. Always favour the west in these decisions. Ardboe i suspect would be rubbing their hands at this tie if the venue was dungannon or coalisland. Now there(sic) faced with the flight to omagh. Suppose the county board wants money for omagh with the half time draw, your man over omagh needs his money

Can't say I'm unhappy with the Omagh venue for Carmen v Clonoe, was dreading Edendork. A hateful venue IMHO (no offence), but the 'East' get their fair share. Coalisland, Dungannon, Dunmoyle, Galbally and Pomeroy all getting double headers this year.
Talk of brown envelopes is just silly. Certainly certain members of the CB do their best to lobby for their own backyard. Carmen v Errigal being played in Pomeroy being an example. There's only so many cars Pomeroy can handle, Omagh's always been the logical choice.

Looking ahead to the quarters... Although I fancied Killyclogher to account for the Fianna, Coalisland didn't resemble anything of the depleted side from the league. I think we'll find out what Omagh are made of now. Dromore weren't overly impressive against Moy and were cleaned out in midfield. Still think they'll take Ardboe and fancy Carmen to have enough for Clonoe. Kevin Barrys for the semis.

Any Confirmation on this: http://www.joe.ie/gaa/gaa-news/dooher-sustains-suspected-broken-jaw-0014968-1 Seems odd that only Joe.ie are reporting it?

QuoteVeteran Tyrone forward Brian Dooher has suffered a suspected broken jaw whilst playing for his club at the weekend.

It looks as though the 35-year-old's season is over after he collided with an opponent during Clann na Gael's Division Two league clash with Killyman yesterday.

The Tyrone captain was in full flight on a trademark solo run when he was fouled by a Killyman player, who landed awkwardly on the three-time All-Star winner.

Dooher was rushed to hospital for X-rays with a suspected broken jaw, which would rule him out of the club's championship campaign this year.

It's on teamtalkmag.com as well since yesterday.

Sorry, had a look on teamtalk before I posted, but must have missed it.

Dublin must be licking their lips. Mickey drafts in three players they turned over last year. Sure O'Gara made a mug outta Justin, Penrose lost out to the Hill and Musgy kicked 19 wides.

As far as I remember he kicked 25 wides. In the first half?

Sure do you mind the second half? Penrose clattered the crossbar 8 times and Paddy Russell and Charlie Redmond ran out of the tunnel and broke Stevey's legs. Of course the umpires seen nothing.

Sandwiches it definitely wasn't McKeever who floored Tommy it was the No 4 (Finn mo or Mallon?). Had a clear view of it, tommy took a punch to the stomach. Also the ref was Marty Duffy not Joe McQuillan.

McQuillan was on the line Omagh Gael. He was made sure Ricey got his yellow for leaning his head into McDonnell though, who was doing exactly the same back. He seemed disinterested in that little fracas though.
