Just going to give this a bump up again. If anyone has used this scheme I'd like to hear how you got on. I've been in touch with the Irish Immigration Centre and they said it's rare that people would have a job sorted before they go out there. You get 90 days from you arrive to get yourself a full time job in your specific field or you have to go home.
Seems like a pretty big risk for me to be taking to go out there on a wing and a prayer in the hope that I might get one.

I've just started trying to contact employers out there, one has said no and the other hasn't responded. It's journalism I work in by the way, and I'd like to go to New York, so if any board members are based in NY it'd be great if you could mention some media outlets that might take someone on. Not knowing anything about the city myself I'm sure there'll be ones I'll miss through my own research. I've tried the Irish Echo and Irish Examiner.

The Garden of Remembrance supposedly commemorates all those who fought for a 32 County Independent Republic. That has yet to be achieved. Hence having the British Head of State laying a wreath an having the British National Anthem played there is simply hypocritical.

It started off as a 26 county republic and then they added Fingal and Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown so on current trends it should be at 32 by 2040.

Does Tipperary count as two because of the North/South Tipperary thing?

Did you hear what Senator Biden said at a fundraiser on Sunday?  He guaranteed that if Barack Obama is elected, we'll face an international crisis within the first six months of their administration.  He told Democrat donors to mark his words – that there were "at least four or five scenarios" that would place our country at risk in an Obama administration. Thanks for the warning, Joe!

He didn't specify what all those four or five scenarios will be, but for clues, let's review the Obama foreign policy agenda.

Our opponent wants to sit down with the world's worst dictators.  With no preconditions, he proposes to meet with a regime in Teheran that vows to "wipe Israel off the map."  Let's call that crisis scenario number one.

Senator Obama has also advocated sending our U.S. military into Pakistan without the approval of the Pakistani government. Invading the sovereign territory of a troubled partner in the war against terrorism.  We'll call that scenario number two.

She thought that the actions that the US have just carried out would put the US at risk.

Have to say was seriously suprised at the choice of code name for Osama? Maybe not the time for PC thinking but surely there were other less emotive names to choose for Osama.

He isn't, it is just that the crazies don't like the answers. He published his birth certificate back in 2008 and the birthers didn't like what it said so they hoped bizarrely that the archived long version would say something different. And amazingly it didn't. But that won't stop the conspiracy theories.
