I would have that as my team as well and with Meyler as POTY

Thought Tyrone were so comfortable in possession. Each one of the full back line and half backs looked so composed with ball in hand, able to side step and glide past their opposite number. Never looked rattled at any stage in the game. Not sure what Meyler needs to do to get a MOTM award, thought he was outstanding again and player of the year for me. Always available for the pass and so hard to take the ball from. Great pass for the McShane goal and even better vision for Canavan's chance. Morgan after a blip at the start was excellent. A clear tactic to bomb the restarts down the middle and let them battle for it. I suppose when you have a weapon like that, why not use it. Scored with the free kicks and done all that was asked of him. Some pass to McKenna for McCurry's goal chance. Peter Harte probably had his best year in a Tyrone jersey and couldn't be happier for him. He takes some grief from supporters but the lad is quality and such a civil fella. Deserves all the praise he gets.

You can talk about attitude and tactics but the most pleasing thing for me was how good the players were in possession. The skill levels with the ball and some of the kick passing were top drawer. Was it McKernan that kicked the ball 50 yards to Hampsey from under the Hogan Stand side of the field? Hampsey didn't have to break stride to collect the pass. After the first 10 minutes and when Tyrone settled, you just didn't feel that they would loose that game. Even if Mayo had scored from the penalty, Tyrone you feel would have still pushed on.

Tyrone did have plenty of good breaks during the year but can't argue that they were not the best team in this year's championship. Some achievement from that buch of players. Well deserved.

McGeary leaves everything on the pitch. There are players in that team that you could point the finger at for not putting the effort in but McGeary is not one of them. You could even see in the past few games he has rowed back a bit on the tackles and conceeding scorable fress and he is getting on the score board as well. The lad has his place on merit.

Are teams permitted to travel to away games on team bus or do they still have to travel by car? Will Tyrone be expected to travel individually by car to the Kerry game?

How many HIA were in that game and how many more could have been sent for HIA? It is a brutal sport. Players still tackle high.

You wonder do any of the Dublin players, even for just a moment, think that something just isn't right here. Do they think that the scales are heavily balanced in their favour and that doesn't quite sit right with them. Or inside that bubble of a county panel do they think that we just work harder than the rest, that we have better volunteers that other counties and that everyone else should work as hard as they do. You would have to think that at some point they wonder that beating other teams in Leinster by 10-20 points is fun or enjoyable or just sport. Maybe they are happy, great for Dublin GAA, feck the begrudgers. You would have to think as GAA men some part of them is not too happy with the current state of play.

I also think he deserved another year. He showed as a manager that where he had great forwards he would let them play and we now have the makings of a decent forward line again. This year was a write off and another year of football and with a dry sod next summer and a full panel to pick from, would have allowed him to show what he could do with a quality forward line. I do think he got the best out of the players he had in recent seasons and kept Tyrone football ultra competitive. It is so easy to slip down the pecking order and be a forgotten county. He was always going to step aside at some time but given that year that we have had, I think another season would have been entirely justified.

You would have to imagine that he won't step away from football altogether. Can't see him going to another county. Is it a clean break?

Just thought Donegal closed that game out yesterday very well. We got them back level, 1-9 apiece and then two great scores to win the match. Their goal and the last two points meant they were deserving winners on the day. That said Tyrone could have won. The two frees brought forward were criminal. In a game of small margins those were give aways. Tyrone were scrambling in the final 10 minutes, Donegal showed more composure and their bigger more powerful men were better in the conditions.

Donegal have a right chance this year. Pity the likes of Dublin or Kerry don't have to travel to Ballybofey for a knock out Championship match in the mud and rain. That would test them.

Is it a prominent Tyrone player?

Yip guaranteed first team player. I am assuming his name is not out there yet. Not sure when he trained last and if he will miss the Donegal game because of the isolation period.

You would have to feel that young Canavan will get his start today. Need some more natural forwards in there.

Mooney is a class player. That Ulster Final when Tyrone were hammering Down, Mooney stood up and scored a couple of great scores. He is easily Down's best player and one of the best about.
