Check out the feedback on the bird selling them.

She has to feed her eBay habit somehow!

Some random thoughts.

Fittest Mayo team ever. My hole. Dead on their feet with 15 to go.

Aidan O'Shea will be snapped up by an Aussie team for sure. Raw class.

McGarrity gave up with 10 mins to go (saw him stand off a lad that popped over an easy point).

Liam McHale - total eejit. Interviewed at some point. Said he'd never speak to Pat McEnaney. Stupid.

Trev Mort, Peader G, Harte, full back line. Won't be happy with themselves.

Shite and all as B Moran is,  Mayo's game plan included him.  Without him the 'knockdown' ball was not there.

They spoke about a 7 point swing due to referee decisions on the sunday game.  Irrelevant.  Unless either team bet each other out the gate then forget about it against KY the next day.

Although, Meath are better than you think. They'll put up a decent show the next day.

Watching Mayo (as a mayo supporter) is like watching Rep of Ireland in the soccer.  Excessive head rubbing, obscene swearing and overtly heavy signs a plenty.  Decent indivduals that have the potential to play brilliant football as a team, but rarely do.

Andy Moran was brilliant, as was Keith Higgins.

JOM may leave it at that.

fair play to meath. far better team on the day

Watched the game on the box.  Not bad coverage, although in the first half they missed a goal chance by mayo coz they were replaying an earlier incident. Brutal (why they have to show something in a replay 3 times i don't know. very soccer like).

David Brady said at half time that Mayo have to "cop on".  He was right, and they did to an extent.

Some thoughts on the game.

Mayo are still at this fannying about at the 30 yard line, running around in circles, passing it out field etc etc.  They need to do some drills big time that teaches them to run past a man. What's the worst that can happen if you try and take on a man? Lose the ball (tends to happen anyway) or Free in, over the bar or better.

Cullinane was lucky to stay on the pitch.  Ref chickened out on giving him a deserved second yellow.  I don't think Cullinane means to do these things, but he's quite "dirty" at times.  I think it's just his size and intensiity.  He'd want to watch it though.

Parsons was a revelation.  Some unwarranted criticism on here, but he got a hand to 70% of all kickouts and won it or palmed it accurately to a Mayo player.  That's what we need people, what we've been looking for in a midfielder for years.  He doesn't have to catch and run the length of the field with every ball (we have enough of them!).  Great newcomer.

Harte was very good too.  Some great catching and running.  Nallen was brilliant.  Actually marked his man and made some vital  interceptions.  McGarrity was good, but I reckon there is more in him.  Dillon good.  O'Malley not.  C Mort - does the man ever look up?  T Mort - shame he pulled up.  Peader G - should have been there from the start, always has a good game against Galway.

Fair play to Galway.  Very efficient and as always made the scoring look so easy compared to Mayos aforementioned fannying about.

All in all, from a Mayo point of view, not the worst in world.  If they can continue to win the ball around the middle of the park as they did today then the scores will come. (C Mort would normally clean up when midfield are dominating - but of course it's galway we were playing.  Pyschological thing)

IMO these two teams today would be very much up there with the top teams remaining.

GAA Discussion / Elvery's Ad

Anyone see the new elvery's ad with Ciaran Mac? A bit daft, but fair play to him, i'm sure he got a few bob for it.

I was in Nice in 2004 for the semi against Fermanagh.   That O'Neills place didn't have the match.  I ended up lying on the beach with about 8 different lads texting me score by score.

Not a bad team intothewest, although as said here, i doubt Ronan McG will start.
Also, I wonder would it be worth chancing Peadar G at half forward instead of Billy Bob Padden?

"McD played most of his underage football at midfield" - no he didn't.

I agree with blast, McD is not a ball winner (never has been) and that's why he doesn't like playing on the full forward line.

Half forward line is his best position, where he can tap over a few points, distribute to full forward line and free up one of his team mates (as there is always two lads marking him)

That's where and how he should be used, anything else is just daftness.

Quoteset up some kind of huge GAA school of excellence and also big feck off SPA and leisure centre so adults can have a mini break away with kids , pamper the adults yet have them all hone in on GAA related stuff.

While I believe the money should be spent on the loan payoff, I like this idea lynchie has above.  It could also be used by counties/clubs for their training week away.  County boards spend fortunes on headin away for training weeks in Jan/Feb, wouldn't it be great if that money went back into the pot.  I reckon it'd be booked out for a good part of the year.  Throw in a 50 mtr pool and a running track and you'd interest other sports, espeicially with the london olympics coming up.

Feck it, if I had 10 million, i'd do it meself.

Mayo / Re: New Mayo Manager
November 14, 2006, 01:04:46 PM
Mixer Moyles - the man was crazy coming on the last day for Cross!

Anyway fair play to him, sheer love of the game has him moving in to management. One to watch, he could be the new John Maughan! Tanned legs etc.

I suggest to him to go for manager of the mayo ladies team, but that could be dangerous. (i can picture his training regime!)
