These guys defence seems to be that this girl was handing out BJ's left right and centre. And none of them thought this strange. Is this what goes on at parties? My experience of after-parties is you usually got a bottle of some weird beer, half drunk it, passed out in a very uncomfortable position on a sofa, woke up foundered at about 7am, then rang a mate who had the sense to go home to come and lift you.

If any story is unbelievable its the defences.

Really? Heard it was just Audi Kelly. Also heard he's off to a certain Derry club who've recently lost their management team. ££££ talks!

The one thing County players and Club player can agree on is more games and less training. The Ulster and Connacht championships take an age to run off (I appreciate it may be condensed somewhat this year). Teams have 3-4 week lay offs. That's utterly stupid. All 1st round games on one weekend Sat & Sun. 2nd round next weekend - final next weekend. Whole thing condensed down. Qualifiers run off as a quick as possible. Apr - May. All Ireland super 8 then start week after the provincial finals. Finished. By the time Super 8's start in June 24 counties are finished anyway. Super 8 in June, AI Final 2nd week of July.
Now some might cry BURNOUT - but lets face it, if they aren't playing matches the players are away on holiday. They're slogging it out training for the 2-3 week lay off. Keep the push on the whole thing and get it played.

Play away at club league games during the county matches. Championship after the County team exits the AI.

Sorted.
Fortunately a little bit more care has been taken as there's a preliminary round in Ulster and the chance of replays to consider. But your general point is good and has been addressed.

Given the pre-lim round it's played the week before. Winners out the next week.
No - replays. Am I right that these have been scraped bar provincial finals? IMO Finals should go to extra time as well.  Play the goddam games and quit pissing about.

Sorry - It's just maddens me the whole thing when it's so simple to fix.

I presume that the decision here is a black or white one ie. either guilty or not guilty, because all I can see here is a lot of grey areas and on that basis it is hard to make the case that they are absolutely guilty beyond reasonable doubt. But then we are only going on media reporting which can often give different impressions even on the same event from 2 different reporters. I think both parties genuinely believe that they have been wronged ( in terms of the allegations for the accused) and I have full sympathy for the woman because she is ultimately the one that has suffered the most. I do not envy the jurors in this case.

If she is infact the victim then of course she has suffered the most but that remains to be seen.

I think it's fair to say she's suffered whatever way things might pan out from here on in!

Careful now, women who are raped must be treated with at best mistrust with no regard for the emotional toll involved in bringing a rape to trial or the peanut gallery will get hot under the collar.

How do you know she was raped?

The guys' version of events seems more plausible than the girl's. Even with all missing pieces.

Agree Alonso is the most talented driver. Would love to see Red Bull make a real push this year. Thoughts on the Toro Roso and their switch to Honda? The engine looks more reliable this year.

McLaren don't seem to have made any reliability gains even with the switch to Renault? Surely it's not McLaren's fault. We were led to believe they had one of the best chassis last year and it was all Honda's fault......  :o

Armagh should've had 1 if not 2 AI's before 2002. Bumpy O'Hagan kicked one into the keepers arms against Kerry when row Z would've done. Cost Armagh an AI that decision.

Oh to be back in the mid 00's. In 2005 there was some titanic battles. The two best teams Ireland had ever seen up to that point. Only Dublin since have eclipsed them.

The Irish government, the EU and sane Brits have all been warning that a hard border could provide the opportunity for "dissidents" to reopen the tinderbox of the troubles. A border in the Irish Sea has just as much potential to have it reopened by the other side.

No. it doesn't. A few paperwork checks at Cairnryan or vets checking cows are not easily targetted by loyalist loonies. A border at the border not only provides easier targets but it creates a whole smuggling industry that would entirely undermine the PSNI. There is no symmetry in these matters, as usual, and it is lazy to imply that there is.

This already happens. There are lots of agricultural products checked in Larne / Carinryan. A border already exists in the Irish Sea. The fact that this hasn't been pointed out to the DUP is a reflection on the lacky media in NI & GB.

That save by DeGea right on half time...Wow!
Outstanding no doubt but the sleep walking defending by Lindelof,Smalling is not good enough at this level.

Smalling absolutely stealing a living at UTD. Very average footballer.

De Gea is different gravy.

Imagine having every little detail about your sexual encounter recounted in public. Sexual positions, semen, oral sex, vaginal sex, who was or wasn't there and your Mother and Father having to listen to it all. It being poured over on social media, the news everything. Both the accused and accuser. These guys are fucked whatever happens. What went on in that bedroom will hang over them till the day they die.

My heart quietly sinks a little further every time I see an attempt to draw a false equilevence between the lots of a rape victim and a rapist.

One deserves so much respect for their bravery in coming forward knowing full well what was in store, and will certainly get that respect from anyone who is worth associating with in the first place, while the other deserves every nasty jibe they get.

I am not drawing any equivalence, you are. I'm speaking specifically about this case. And despite what you may think, no one has been found guilty of anything yet.

Doctor at the rape clinic saying she made no reference to Olding having orally raped her when being examined.

According to Frank Greaney, she also alleged that the "second man vagninally raped her while on her back".

So why is Olding being done for oral rape and not vaginal?

This case is a complete mess. Is anyone actually telling the truth? This is close to being thrown out surely.

Finding it impossible to follow myself. The whole thing seems all over the place. But then we're not in the courtroom so difficult to know.

We've a few real class acts Niall Sludden, Colm Cavanagh, Mattie Donnelly. But after that we have just ordinary footballers who could be interchanged without noticing any difference in the team. If we've designs on winning anything this year you'd want 10+ of the other squad members upping their performance levels significantly.
Dunno if Harte is the problem or not. Perhaps he's getting the best out of what he has at his disposal.
