Do people forget already how shit the weather was for this month up until a few days ago? The first 3 club league games I was at in Tyrone were played in atrocious conditions ffs.

We had 4 months solid rain at the start of the year. Anyone complaining about this heat needs a kick in the stones.

The heat is what it is, the rain in the past has nothing to do with it. By and large the heat in Ireland is tolerable, but tomorrow may not be in many places.

40 degrees heat isn't sustainable. People will die. Please don't tell me you don't believe in climate change?

The heat we have here this week is great of course and no one should be complaining, what the south of england and France are getting is beyond that into dangerous.

Hugh Montgomery, who studies the impact of climate change on health, told me afterwards he was "furious, sad and terrified" at political inaction: "Climate change has been presented as some future problem for future generations, probably for poor people, and . . . it's not true. It's us." Montgomery pointed to an intelligence report painting climate-accelerated nature loss as a risk to food supplies and labelled opposition to net zero "clearly insane".

The trouble is, the future has a habit of arriving, along with outrageous heat events that illustrate the non-linear nature of climate change.

I remember some academic saying you would need a dictatorship to address it. Correct.

Another reason liberal democracy will go extinct.

Just me or are people getting stupider? Seen a post about the hottest temperature ever being recorded in 1887, the usual brainiacs are accepting this as evidence that climate change isn't real...

In relation to population, no dictatorship is needed, just x, facebook etc is doing the job fine.

A Malthusian positive check. If I was an air con salesman in Ireland I'd be spending money on ad sales.
