I see Leaving Cert only starting this week and finishing up 3rd week of June.

Should be the same up here, youngsters finishing for study leave at the start of May with elements of the syllabus still not fully complete.

I imagine GCSE and A Level teachers must be getting things easy from the start of May onwards.

Seems to be a lot of contention in Stormont with that gobshite trying to put some bill through to stop strike action by teachers. I don't know the specifics but if he's putting it through it can't be good.

I'd say they'd be more than willing to swap it for the pay, holidays and Terms & Conditions of their southern counterparts all the same.

He's very out of touch with the teachers I know. Did a deal on pay, sold them a pup on workload. He'll pay for it now when they all go back on strike.
Also too many civil servants knocking about making work for teachers, doctors, etc, getting worse.

I'm with the Principal on this one, he is obviously trying to set some standards which can only be a good thing.

While I did not realise it at the time when I was at secondary school standards started when you come through the gate e.g. if you landed in white trainers instead of black shoes you would have been sent home simple as.

The SEN excuse has been pushed far too often.

When the kids leave school into the big real world - prospective employers are just gonna think "right, who is next on the interview list - I don't have capacity to deal with this one".

Unfortunately some parents far too thick to appreciate that school is about more than just what is in books.

No problems with checks and balances on teacher's performance and duties, but parents would sicken your hole, it's usually parents that were dicks themselves at school who disliked authority and blamed their lack of education to the teachers and schools they attended or didn't attend enough too..

You could have a full school in towns and cities with just SEN students and classroom assistants

Best somes up some of the parents interviewed, any wonder there are now so many Neets in society.  If no one at home is going to give the children a proverbial kick up the back side when it is needed then they will not go far in life.

You dont get suspended from a school for looking out the window or a minute late to class, if you do. Hes in the wrong game.

The open air zoo that is the USA would be fun to teach in.

Imagine dealing with these parents.

Then their 6 year old child shoots you because assistant principal doesnt take seriously claims from other kids that the child is packing heat.
