Saw Untouchable last night, French movie about a rich quadriplegic being cared for by a young man from the banlieues. Plenty of laughs and moves along nicely. Been a huge boxoffice success around Europe. 8/10
"As I get older I notice the years less and the seasons more."

Canalman

Saw What Richard Did last night. Not massively impressed........ maybe I expected too much on the basis of the reviews.
Very unusual casting for the main character's father................... an old face from a boxset .

The Iceman

Watched a film called "Red Lights" with DeNiro, Sigourney and Killian Murphy - good show now have to say - wasn't expecting it to be so enjoyable - nice twists.
I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight

Saw Skyfall over weekend, all the hype and reviews followed by a great start only flattered to deceive as the pace slackened off (inevitably I suppose) and the ending neither truely satisfied nor made me hungry to see more. 7/10.

Seen it last night, thought it was the worst Bond film I've ever seen. A couple of things pissed me off at the beginning of the film and they just kept on adding up and by the time I got to the end I couldn't wait to stop watching it. Casino Royale was a brilliant script and although they fucked up Quantum of Solace I actually believe this is worse. I could name at least 20 problems with the film but I just start with one, the "Welcome to Scotland" line. Jesus, how can a script as cutting and smooth as Casino Royale revert to shit like this.

Watched Intermission again last night, I'd forgotten how good it is.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Agreed, thought it was awful. If not for Javier Bardem, it would have been utter drivel.

Catching up on a few taped films and watched '3.10 to Yuma'.
Thought it was class. Didnt particularly like Cristian Bale in the Batman films, this suited him a lot more.

Christian Bale is the best Batman there has been, tremendous actor and performances as Batman.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

Are you related to him Stew? A very defensive post there! Its only an actor and a film, and my humble opinion man!

Went to see Skyfall last night. Liked it a lot - solid 8.5/10.

Any criticism of cliches in a Bond film seems strange. Thin line behind a cliche and the Bond formula of girls, guns, gadgets, big opening sequence, over the top villains, cheesy one-liners, cars, casinos, money shots for Omega etc. etc. Any director knows they have to work any film around the formula.

Compared to the slickness of Casino Royal I thought it was poor. The product placement was ridiculous and I nearly spat my coke out when i heard the "Welcome to Scotland" line. Bland entertainment for a hungover Sunday is about the only thing it fits the bill for IMO.

I didn't notice the Audi, Heineken, Omega, VW, Sony or Coke product placements so I have no idea what you are talking about...  ;)
